40 mbs is really good for MSFS 2024.  Just make sure to have a 32-64 gb rolling cache.

Well this is how my sim looks tonight.  Am I the only one?  (LOD 400, 5080, everything on high)

  • I’m not sure it’s the rest of the world’s responsibility to mitigate the UK’s bad decisions.

  • fantastic if you ask me, but then I fly exclusively VR and GA airplanes only. 45 fps and no stutters it is the best experience I ever had, fps went up 30% from 35 to 45 (Pimax Crystal Light) now

  • I can't get rid of panning stutters with the last couple of beta builds. I've cleared my nvidia caches, rolling cache, I'm using the latest nvidia 581.94 hotfix driver. I've tried clean community

I can't get airborne with gliders in beta releases. When I try it in beta 3, the towing plane did not even start motor. Now in current beta, towing plane starts, but it does not gain speed and then stops at end of the runway.

do you think having fiber is going to iron out all the bugs ?

I think we know the answer to that.  People throwing large sums of money at the sim, the Windows, sim, and driver re-installs, constant tweaking chasing their tails, I feel sorry for some people.  It simply shouldn't be like this.

It's nice to know that my transition to MSFS 2024 will be smooth, effortless, and uneventful

It can be!  It depends on what your expectations are, and what settings you will use.

I am generally happy with 2024, and it is certainly the best we have, but there are plenty of basic things that still bug me.
It is a very inconsistent experience - not sure how much the streaming aspect causes that, but I am on a 500 connection with a 64GB rolling cache, so I expect better sometimes.

The reluctance of the developer to address certain long term issues is annoying, yet I look at some of the release notes on the betas and I simply don't recognise 90% of the things they are working on.  Strange!

Anyway, it is the only way to go, and you should enjoy the experience.
While I still have my 2020 folders intact (mainly for copying stuff over), I haven't used 2020 for about 9 months now, so that should tell you something, and most of my 2020 stuff seems to works well enough in 2024.

That could also mean that the beta tester are testing it rather one sided and have not enough insight. If I take a look at the bug listing the first 25 top bug are no issue for me.

I've noticed that you've been very negative about the sim consistently and that's fine but you also seem to bring up issues no one else sees. Anyway, here's a pic of the night lighting I took minutes ago.

@Krakin, be aware that because of new laws on child protection in the UK images hosted on many services are no longer visible to those in this country. Instead a placeholder is shown.

In fact I believe that the release notes are for their employer, not for the users.

What are you on about?

The sepia mask was removed with the SU04 beta and it stays removed.

The entire night bitmap has been redone.
