April 12Apr 12 To be honest, I don’t really care about any of these views. I very rarely use an exterior view, and cabin views even less so. 99 per cent of the time, I only switch between cockpit views. After all, I’m the pilot, not a passenger. I never really use the cabin views. I’ve only looked through the views that are suggested to see if I experience the same ‘glitch’ as longhaul747. and yes, i see the same ugly view. Good job on the screenshot. That looks like some corrupt installation files. Did install go smoothly or did you run into issues and have to do an install on top of a previous install? Have you tried zooming in or out on that camera view? April 12Apr 12 As far as I know installation went smoothly. I can always uninstall and reinstall it but I doubt it will make a difference. I suspect its some sort of missing texture that is preventing the view from rendering correctly. Maybe some of the paint jobs are still being worked on? View is fixed so you can't zoom or move it. Mostly 100% stock FS2024 install. I don't use Chaseplane or anything like that. Some of the other views are also a bit messed up but others are fine. Some show part of a window frame texture and look fine. I don't spend a lot of time in these views but it comes in handy when you see something cool and you want to take a screen shot showing the wings. Comes in handy when you want to see those flaps coming down. A nice clean view like before would be a nice touch.
April 12Apr 12 I'm really not seeing a huge difference by any means. April 12Apr 12 A lot of users don't seem to know about, or know how to use the custom views in MSFS2024. I never use any preset views - when I get a new aircraft, the first thing I do (from the standard cockpit view) is move my way through the cabin (using arrow keys) to the perfect left and right windows views, and hit my key assignment for "Save custom view 1" and "Save custom views 2". I then hit the view reset key to get back into the default cockpit view. To get to see my new wing views, I then just hot the keys for "Custom view 1" and "Custom view 2". This is how X-Plane has always worked, so I have set my keys for all of the above to the same keys that XP11 used; For setting: Save custom view 1 Ctrl + Num 1 Save custom view 2 Ctrl + Num 2 For viewing: Custom view 1 Num 1 Custom view 2 Num 2 (I actually set 5 custom views, so I do the above up to Custom view 5) The Num keys and Crtl+Num key buttons above may well be set to some other function in 2024 by default, so those assignments would need to be cleared first. April 12Apr 12 Is there a way to inhibit the cabin view in the PMDG 737-700 ? I couldn't care less about there being a graphical representation of the pax cabin behind the cockpit, and I guess that coud save VRAM ? April 12Apr 12 I bought it and took it for a flight today. It's good, don't really notice an awful lot different to the -800 but tbh I didn't think there was anything wrong with that. Generally a solid aircraft and fun to fly. Does anyone else find the VNAV a bit all over the place though? Pitching the nose up and down very harshly. Feel like the Fenix has a much smoother autopilot than the PMDG Boeings. I just did my first test flight. LPPR-->LPPT and so far so good. Didn't notice any oscillations in VNAV. April 12Apr 12 I use BUTTON4 on my CH Flightstick Pro joystick for thrust reversers, but after reducing thrust to idle before touchdown, I need to "flick" the thrust levers forwardx and back slightly whilst holding BUTTON4 to engage the thrust reversers. I can then apply thrust as required up to maximum (always maximum in my case, as I like to hear those engines roar) I then decrease the thrust to idle and release BUTTON4 to disengage. That works perfectly. Has PMDG perhaps set this camera view (two views in my case) with incorrect coordinates? The other showcase views are fine. I need to correct myself: I don’t use Chaseplane to switch between camera views; I use FLOW. And yes, the views in question, which are faulty, are fixed. You can’t move around within the view.
