With this new updated beta version Just one idea since I had this recently as well for some settings incl. DLSS: realized that the NVIDIA app was set to „optimized“ for MSFS. Never was aware that was enabled as I only use this app for updating the driver. Anyway, disabling optimization for MSFS in the app seemingly helped MSFS to remember my GFX settings. So if you use the NVIDIA app you may check that. Just a thought, YMMV Edited April 22Apr 22 by DAD Phil Leaven i5 10600KF, 32 GB 3200 RAM, ASUS 4070 12GB EVO, Asus ROG Z490-H, 2 WD Black NVME for each Win11 (500GB) and MSFS (1TB), Rolling Cache 16GB, Photogrammetry always OFF, Live Weather and Live Traffic always ON, Res 2560x1440 on 27"

April 22Apr 22 Author switching back and forth between 2D and VR didn't crash anymore, that's new 😀 perhaps thanks to: "Improved the way the game switches in virtual reality to avoid excessive memory usage." with totally smooth over 70 fps in VR (roughly 5760 × 2880 total rendered pixels, about 17 million), I see no need for a RTX 5090. but still: "Descend and maintain minus 1.000" farewell Beechcraft N6062B Edited April 22Apr 22 by turbomax AMD 7800X3D, Windows 11, Gigabyte X670 AORUS Elite AX Motherboard, 64GB DDR5 G.SKILL Trident Z5 NEO RGB (AMD Expo), RTX 4090, Samsung 980 PRO M.2 NVMe SSD 2 TB PCIe 4.0, Samsung 980 PRO M.2 NVMe SSD 1 TB PCIe 4.0, 4K resolution 50" TV @60Hz, VR: Pimax Crystal Light + HP Reverb G2 @ 90 Hz, Honeycomb Bravo Throttle Quadrant, be quiet 1000W PSU, Noctua NH-U12S chromax.black air cooler. 60-130 fps. no CPU overclocking. very nice.

There are no user-facing changes compared to yesterday's .22 beta build, and we're only releasing this build on Steam, not other platforms. https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/steam-only-sim-update-5-beta-1-7-23-0-release-notes-april-22-2026/763619 Thanks, -SeedyL, MSFS Community Manager Edited April 22Apr 22 by SeedyL
April 22Apr 22 I've just thought of something: is there any news in these betas regarding anti-aliasing? 13600KF - AIO - 32GB DDR4 - RTX4070 - UW1440p GSync - USB DAC - 2TB NVMe - Windows 11 Pro - Gladiator NXT EVO - 1 Gbps Fiber - MSFS 2024
April 23Apr 23 Finally managed to get the Beta to behave. Turns out it was either the UK Birds or Pastures add on. Both worked fine in SU4. But in the Beta they cause increasingly bad pausing and eventually a crash.
