As a guy who spends every six months in Level D sims, the weather  in 2024 is miles better than how it looks in a real sim.  First off there is no live weather in a real sim, so it’s all presets.

Having read a number of pages on this post, I often get the impression some people on Avsim are more interested in complaining for the sake of complaining.  I just did 4 flights since SU5 came ou

The update just came out, AI wouldn't know anything.

True but if the key option was there during the beta then there was a chance it was out there. Regardless, I removed the conflicting key command and everything is back to normal thanks to FPVSteve.

This really isn’t when ai will shine. This release JUST happened and it won’t have much to work off of.

I just checked and the EFB did not load with the airplane. So far everything is working normal with SU5.

Very impressed with performance in SU5.

I'm happy with it ..... except that the key bindings for Headset Simulation Mode still do not work.

This one has dragged on ridiculously long....  I could understand if the headset mode itself wasn't working.   But we're talking binding a key to a fully functional mode.   Seriously how hard can that be?

Hello @sd_flyer,

This was always possible in both MSFS (2020) and MSFS 2024 (SU4 and previous) when using a Tobii Eye Tracker 5. Were you not able to do this previously?

Thanks,

How critical is it to go through all of the prep steps outlined by YouTubers like IslandSimPilot?

Not necessary.  I have never done that and each SU has installed just fine.  I have lost count how many additional files I have in my addon linker folder.

I also use the latest DLSS files with the swapper and they didn't change either.  Everything was where it needed to be.

Has Asobo failed to include the Avidyne avionics equipped C172 despite mentioning it in the release notes again ?

It is now available in sim.

I don't know much about avionics but it looks like the Avidyne units will be a good alternative to the basic Garmin ones. Hopefully aircraft developers will adopt them. From what I understand they are pretty much a drop in replacement for the GNS units and hence it shouldn't be too much work to create new variants. Although as I am not  a developer I could be wrong.

The ff/ll updates and the Avidyne avionics were what I was most interested in this update so at least one of the two arrived today.

Just loaded a flight with the new update.   I spawn on the ground next to the jet as always.  Shift-C doesn't get me into the cockpit.   Hit escape to see if a control binding was changed, nothing happens.   The keyboard doesn't seem to work at all.   Am I missing something here?     Using the Fenix A319, if that matters.

Anyone else seeing some weirdness with the GUI in the Free Flight menu, when trying to use the "Configure" option to select variant, livery etc.?  Clicking on it has no effect at all for me, although if I press "F" I  can get to the variant/livery selection options.  Don't know what broke it.

Thank you very much!  This was enough to get to a workable solution, although I find I like a lot more head movement (old habit from "checking six" in combat flight sims):

And strangely, I never knew that I needed an axe, or hatchet or any other kind of heavy sharp cutting implement, to use Tobii....
