The FlightFX Cessna Citation X V2.1.4 update arrives today, August 26 at 12:00 PM Central Time on the Microsoft Flight Simulator Marketplace for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. This is a big one. V2.1.4 represents a substantial update to the Citation X, touching nearly every part of the aircraft, including avionics, flight dynamics, performance prediction, the EFB, walkaround functionality, visuals, sound, Career Mode support, and our new Inertial Immersion System. In fact, the changelog is so big that it takes four separate Discord posts just to fit it all. We’ll drop the complete V2.1.4 changelog below so you can dig into everything that has been added, improved, reworked, and fixed.

FlightFX has released Cessna Citation X V2.1.4, bringing a major set of improvements across gameplay, avionics, the EFB, flight model, visuals, and sound.

GAMEPLAY

New Inertial Immersion System

• Custom-built body and seat inertia effects.

• Simulates rattles, shakes, vibrations, turbulence, windshear, touchdown, stall buffet, ground roll, dirty air, and high-G maneuvers.

• Effects can be configured through the EFB.

Career Compatibility

• Aircraft has been moved to a fully modular setup.

• Now compatible with the VIP Transport specialization.

Walkaround

• Added full native walkaround support.

• Improved timing of pre-flight item clickspots.

• Added Career-compatible interactive covers, chocks, GPU, and doors.

P2000 Lateral Navigation Computer Overhaul

• Major overhaul resolving missed sequencing, instrument desynchronization, and intermittent Direct-To issues.

• Improved FMS navigation accuracy.

• Pilot and copilot bearing displays are now independent and correctly follow their respective selector positions.

• Improved airport ID display on the STAR selection page.

• Added ETE and ETA information to the FMS Descent page.

• Added estimated time information for each waypoint on the Flight Plan page.

• Waypoints now display the Zulu time at which they were crossed.

• Corrected color inaccuracies on the Flight Plan page.

• Improved automatic NAV radio tuning from ILS frequencies.

• Automatic NAV tuning will no longer overwrite a manually entered NAV frequency.

Missed Approach Support

• Full missed approach support added to the FMC.

• Published missed approaches are now loaded with the procedure.

• Missed approaches can be armed via MISSED APPR or TOGA.

Advisory VNAV

• FMS Flight Plan page now displays predicted Advisory VNAV altitudes for waypoints without specified constraints.

• Advisory VNAV predictions are now aligned with the Vertical Situation Display.

Flight Performance Prediction Overhaul

• Flight performance predictions are now based on real Citation X performance data.

• Fuel remaining and ETA predictions are calculated for all flight plan waypoints.

• Predictions account for cruise winds, per-waypoint winds, temperatures, aircraft weight, ISA deviation, and ambient conditions.

• Corrected ETA prediction logic on the PROG page.

• Fixed incorrect or NaN fuel predictions while on the ground.

PERF PLAN Page

• Added a new FMC performance planning page powered by the updated performance predictor.

• Supports SimBrief wind imports.

• Provides takeoff and landing performance, V-speeds, and live destination predictions.

• Added cruise wind entry and its effect on performance predictions.

• Updated PERF INIT transition altitude entry to accept values in feet rather than flight levels.

• Added the ability to manually edit V-speeds from the MFD.

Weather Radar

• Added manual and automatic weather radar tilt functionality.

• Corrected weather radar display colors.

Flight Displays

• Added missing MFD Menu Page 2.

• Added PFD HSI ARC mode with weather radar overlay.

• Added DME readout on the MFD.

• Corrected the direction of the EICAS brightness knob.

• Redesigned the home screen with new icons and background, a live weather panel, and a turbulence EDR graph when the Inertial Immersion System is active.

• Added keyboard input blocking while entering data in the EFB to prevent unintended simulator commands.

• Fixed ground services graphics incorrectly showing covers on static wicks when none were installed.

• Unlinked parking position from external power availability.

SimBrief App

• Added a new EFB app to import flight plans into the FMS with improved logic and failsafes.

• Imports flight plan winds, cruise altitude, and weights.

• Provides detailed Navlog and SimBrief OFP views.

• Allows weight and balance data to be exported directly to the Load Manager.

Moving Map & Charts

• Added OpenStreetMap and Satellite map modes.

• Displays synchronized FMC flight plans in real time.

• Displays the aircraft's traveled path and altitude.

• Fixed an issue where EFB payload values could continuously toggle between 0 and -0 when no payload was assigned.

Throttle Calibration

A Note for Our MSFS 2020 Users With Citation X V2.1.4 releasing today for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, we also wanted to provide some clarity on what comes next for the MSFS 2020 version. As development has progressed, the differences between MSFS 2024 and MSFS 2020 have continued to grow. Many of the new systems, improvements, and platform capabilities included in V2.1.4 are now specific to MSFS 2024, making continued feature parity between the two versions increasingly difficult. Now that the MSFS 2024 update is complete, we'll be going back through the work and backporting every applicable fix and improvement that can reasonably be brought across to MSFS 2020. That backport will serve as the final planned feature update for the MSFS 2020 edition. After that, the aircraft will move to maintenance-only status on MSFS 2020, while active development and future new features continue exclusively on MSFS 2024. Importantly, this does not mean we're abandoning the MSFS 2020 version. If a significant bug or critical issue is discovered, we'll absolutely step in with a maintenance patch where needed. For our MSFS 2020 customers, we'll make sure you receive as much of the work you see in the changelog above as the platform reasonably allows. For Citation X, today marks the beginning of its next chapter, and we're excited to finally get V2.1.4 into your hands.

It's basically a new aircraft. For free. Tim and I have updated all of our paints, along with a few other guys who have done the same.

I had the same, but I was able to add new views no problem. I did get a chaseplane update right before, so maybe that will fix it.

This looks like a nice upgrade.

I'm still stuck on the HJET for its simplicity and ease of use. Not to mention fuel prices. 😆

It’s a nit-picky thing, but the primary reason I didn’t buy this was the lack of wing flex.

Glad to see that’s been rectified! Along with all the rest of the improvements, seems like a great choice to add to The List. 🙂👍

I haven't used MSFS in a while, but seeing this got me to loaded it up again. Is it just me, or is turbulence amazing in this plane? Or is it every plane now? The head shakes and the sounds are like nothing I've seen before.
