  1. Same for me. It started working after I posted in November, and now it's happening again.
  2. As someone who works in the post-secondary education sector, I appreciated the humour in your posting. LOL!
  3. I haven't stopped simming (latest version of P3D) at all. If anything, my simming has increased. I'm particularly enjoying FSLabs A320 and flying for Virtual Air Canada. My take on Flight Simulator 2020: I'll judge it when it comes out sometime next year, and buy it if I believe it satisfies my flight simming needs. In the meantime, I'm going to continue using P3D and buying add-ons ... and enjoying my flight sim time. After all, even if I buy the next Flight Simulator, I'll still have P3D and will still have my selection of planes to fly in P3D while the Flight Sim market catches up. Anyway, flight simming is the one activity that I do on my own without having to interact with family members (whom I love, but I need some "me-time" every now and then), and no amount of new software is going to change my approach to my hobby.
  4. Unread Content doesn't seem to be working for me. Changing from "condensed" to "expanded" or resetting "time period) doesn't help (it has in the past). Anyone else having the same issue?
  5. That's very odd. I just bought the B120 over the weekend, installed it, and flew it. Preview worked fine. Have you retried uninstalling and then reinstalling?
  6. Should start another thread for this ... I use 0.8 as well
  7. Of course. I should have known. 🙂 The only place where I'm referred to as Dr. Murray is at work. Otherwise, it's just plain old "Joel" or "Dad."
  8. Thank you, Fr. Bill (should that be Dr. Bill???). It's quite meaningful for me in my role as Associate Dean at my university, so it's worth more like a venti vanilla bean frappuccino rather than a tall dark roast at Starbucks. 😁 Cheers! Joel
  9. Update on what I wrote back in 2016: I successfully passed my comps after posting the above and worked on my dissertation for a couple of years. I then defended my dissertation in January, 2018, and convocated with a Doctor of Education degree in June, 2018. Titles are a big thing in the post-secondary environment, so I'm now "Dr. Murray" rather than "Mr. Murray." Feels good ... a big accomplishment. 🙂
  10. You should be able to do both. There are lots of Youtube videos that show how people have set up their controllers with FSUIPC. For example, https://youtu.be/SG0IwXPpEqg, https://youtu.be/I75IMi-mjx0, and https://youtu.be/Opf7PVTXmU0. I'm sure that the Avsim community would be happy to help you out if you get the paid version of FSUIPC and have further questions.
  11. Great post and pictures! Thank you for the history of Icelandair ... very informative.
  12. That worked for me! Thank you very much!
  13. Thank you for your service, Jim. Best wishes.
  14. If I remember correctly, in one of his last videos in December 2018, he mentioned that he was going to be busy with work and his triathlons for the coming several weeks and wouldn't be able to post much about flight simming. He's still posting videos to his VLOG on YouTube called "The Tristan Files."
  15. Wow! Just what I was looking for! Thanks!
  16. Agreed. I enjoy reading waypoint names and trying to discern whether there's any meaning to them. Some of those where I live (near CYVR) are related to places--e.g., JORJA, which is in the Georgia Straight, a body of water between the Vancouver mainland and Vancouver Island; BOGGI, which is located in an area, a bog, called Burns Bog; and STAVE, which is located near Stave Lake.
  17. Thank you very much for making Radar Contact free to the community. I bought mine years ago and still use it. I'd also like to thank you for all the years of supporting our wonderful hobby, and I wish you the very best moving forward. Sincerely, Joel
  18. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, everyone!
  19. I'd like to thank you as well, Chuck. Also, my vote is for the Aerosoft CRJ.
  20. It seems to be intermittent. I just had a problem with it. Choosing "condensed" and then going back to "expanded" seemed to solve the problem--at least, temporarily.
