  1. When I was using P3D, I searched for a good weather engine and tried ASN, Opus and FSGRW. They were all excellent. The thing that tipped the balance in favor of FSGRW was, it's simplicity. No fooling around, tweaking, filling out questionnaires, just the weather. As a bonus, I get a free version for X-Plane as Pilot's weather engine works with all modern platforms (FS9 FSX P3D XPX). How good is that?
  2. The Carenado 210 Centurion coupled to Simcoders REP engine is brilliant, a sort of match made in heaven.
  3. Hi Jose, If you have ever purchased FSGRW for FSX or P3D, then the software is a free upgrade to X-Plane.
  4. I can certainly agree with you here Martin. That's the whole premise of the Avsim sub forums. Each one caters to one's preferences, which is a good thing and I might add, a privilege.
  5. Your reply would be far more appropriate in the sub forums you seem to favor. A new sim will take years for it to mature and you can forget about decent payware for a good long time. Having no seasons does not bother me in the least.
  6. It's actually the RWDesigns-A330 that has the QPAC FBW.
  7. That depends on what you like to fly. The LES Saab 340 is a study level sim, one of the very best. If like me, you prefer general aviation, then two outstanding aircraft fall into the category of study level. The airfoilLabs 172 (available but a work in progress) will be very close to anything A2A have ever done. If you want to put a smile on your face, get the Carenado 210 and add the SimCoders Reality Expansion Pack. I haven't stopped smiling since that purchase. The best aircraft combo I have ever flown in any flight simulator. Anyways, welcome to X-Plane .
  8. The reason it keeps crashing, is you have not fixed what causes the crash. You should have a log file of the crash. Towards the bottom of the log, it should list what happened. I hope this helps a little.
  9. José, Doesn't SkyMaxx backup the files on it's own? At least that's what I thought it did. Anyways, if you want to revert back to default clouds, just remove Skymaxx and the next time you update X-Plane your default clouds should be restored.
  10. hi jh71, you might want to look at this... https://youtu.be/XR1q9oOn7hE
  11. Comanche, I see you have the Carenado Centurion. If you want to raise the bar a few notches, look at SimCoders REP engine for this aircraft. It's sure to bring a smile to your face.
  12. The Aerowinx 744 sim is probably the finest one can buy for home use. The price is in line with the performance though. I guess it's still cheap for everything it accomplishes.
  13. Actually, he needs to update his review as I made him aware of a new version that corrects some of the problems he seemed to be having. I hope he'll find the time to do an update.
  14. Henry, this is by far the best and most accurate reply I've read on this forum. As the saying goes, "where ignorance is bliss, 'tis folly to be wise."
  15. They're actually on build 2.04 post #413 http://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?showtopic=66320&page=42
  16. Have a look at this, maybe not all airports but 25K sounds interesting. I have not gotten around to using it but am planning to at some point. http://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?app=downloads&showfile=27582
  17. Original poster asked if X-Plane was worth getting. Way too many off topic posts in this thread.
  18. Looks like Rotate will release a winner...
  19. A robust SDK is the solution. The more developers involved, the more software Laminar sells. If it works for FSX, it's bound to for X-Plane also.
  20. Hi Nico, I think the rolling sound with the window open is fine. The sound when parked, engine on, needs to be reworked as the wind should not upstage the Continental's sound. The rest is simply superb. thank you for working on REP.
  21. SkyMAXX is powered by Sundog Software's Silverlining tech. They also happen to make Triton Ocean. I would like to believe they are (SkyMAXX and Sundog) working on improving the water behavior in X-Plane 10.
  22. Just relaying what I believe is significant news for X-Plane enthusiasts. Apparently, this is only a small part of what they'll be able to do with their plugin.
