PMDG 737 NGX: PMDG's attitude toward realism

Hi,I went and re-read the post a second time trying to find the rude, atrocious and/or disrespectful content your are referring to, I just don't see it. A bit snippy maybe, but I do not see any rude, atrocious and/or disrespectful content.I can understand most if-not-all non real world pilots looking at the provided images and thinking they went to far with the so called dirty brush. That's because they have no real world flight deck experience to compare the images to, they only have past flightsim flight deck renditions, and to be honest they have been far to clean, some developers went as far as to show some wear and tear but I cannot remember any developer adding dirt, dust bunnies and/or debris. From what I have been able to see, this project is going to jump leaps and bounds over "ANY OTHER DEVELOPER" to date!!!. I haven't seen or heard much from Level-D in regards to their 757 but I think they will have a hard time matching what we are about to experience with PMDG's latest release.I wait with bated breath for this to hit the market.

I seriously think you're being way too rude to the original poster. All he was saying was some things he didn't like or could be changed, he wasn't swearing at you or saying how he hated it. In his mind those are some things that are wrong and he respectfully stated them. Whether those cons are right or not, that doesn't matter, I think you should change your attitude. In your whole post it sounds like you're defending yourself, as if he accused you of not using '5000 dollar equipment'. Your last paragraph is atrocious. "We will not be changing what we know to be accurate because someone on the internet doesn't like it. Four of us from this company physically sat in this aircraft - that is good enough for us and I suspect for most everyone else here"There are SOOOO many ways you could have reworded it to better, to be more respectful and not acting as if he personally attacked your views. I've seen your posts throughout this thread and how you've replied to those who have differing views to the rest of the community. I suggest you change it.Karan Kant

Jeez, I had to re-read this entire post. I'm getting spoiled with all these mini updates from Robert.

Hmmm...seeing the whole vc, maybe the image, but the textures don't look as good as I thought they would from the little thumbnails that we have seen. Think I will stick with the Aerosoft A320 as far as the clean good-looking vc's go! Maybe once we see some more images I will change my mind. Kinda bummed by it. No disrespect, you guys do a good job, so I am hoping its just a weird image!

My dream bird. :( (might not be an NG, but with the paint kit I will adapt it to work)PlanespottersNet_049867.jpg
That paint job is sweet. I have come to love the AAL livery, but if you or someone else could manage to get this awesome job to work on the NGX, it will be a fixture on my routes for sure.

You should read Robert's Disclaimer.

I absolutely LOVE the look of this VC!The little dings and dongs and the wear make it so realistic! The 737 is a workhorse and if you ever watched a cockpit DVD, you probably noticed the typical missing white "covers" on the most used switches on the overhead panel (fuel, bleed etc.) and stuff like that. To see these things in the NGX VC means a whole new level of immersion to me!Like I posted before, only the true artist is able to breath life to a piece of software! That's what you definitely are, dear PMDG staff: true artists!Chapeau! ;-)Michael Schmitt

I have an entirely different take on all of this. Sure, the new pictures look great, but I'm going to take them with a grain of salt and wait until I use the finished product. Right now it's like looking at a brochure of a hotel, with the nice photos. When you actually enter the room, your feelings change from what you thought you were getting. I'm not in any way suggesting that the actual aircraft will be disappointing (in fact, I am anticipating a high-quality sim, based on PMDG's previous products). I am just trying to reserve my opinions for later on. On the other hand....there aren't too many hotel brochure pics where the rooms have remnants of days-old salad laying around. :(

Huh? Don't think you can compare the Aerosoft A320 and the upcoming NGX.. A320X looks nice on the screenshots but the basic functionality would drive me crazy so I am avoiding. Look on the other hand A320 is just a computer with wings, while the 737 is a real pilots plane...

Spaceship control rooms and command centers always looked so clean, bright and smart in the movies and TV series...then Alien came along with that grimy, battered lived-in look of Nostramus...a damp, filthy workhorse freighter...and that was so cool, it suddenly made all those other movies look less realistic...

From a systems view point, the Airbus X never was intended to match what the NGX is intended to deliver. It is very shallow. It does look very good, but truthfully, I don't think it is any better than how the NGX looks. The PMDG NGX is going to be a clear winner.

It depends on your definition of a real pilot; you've got to watch out for all those fakers :Tounge:A question for the PMDG dev team, how long after the release of the download version of the NGX do you intend to release the boxed version? Will it be similar to the MD-11X box release time-wise?Regards

Ryan, what kind of camera did you take those real cockpit shots with? Cannon 7d?
At the quoted $5,000 my suspicion is a 1D, I've just bought a 7D (which is awesome) and it was just over £1,000. The exchange rate aint that bad! Mind you, a lot depends on what lenses Uncle Ryan was using...?

I believe he's cited a 40D or 50D in the past. With a couple L lenses that's easily $5000.My wallet knows from experience LOL :(...Anyways back to the show
