March 31, 201115 yr Oh boy, here we go again...Guys, LVL-D is a group FS enthusiasts not a full time FS development shop. They have real world commitments, families etc... First learn how to guarantee something before you guarentee it ;) Can you also tell me tomorrow's lottery tix's while you are predicting the future.Thank you Paul very wise words here and a lot of wrong speculations here ;-)As for the 757 it will happen and will change the virtual skies for ever, however at this level it just takes time to do it right :-)Have fun flying in the meantime guys.Cheers, André
March 31, 201115 yr given that it took what 3 years to fix the engine start bug on the FSX SP2 version, I guess they will release the 757 in another 10 years! however I am sure it will be fantastic and set new benchmarks, but hey be prepared for the onslaught of self importance for even dare mentioning this taboo subject which is strictly reserved for the level D big chief :(
March 31, 201115 yr Hi,I believe the PMDG 737NGX (soon to be released) will keep all the Boeing fans (myself included) happy in the meantime. March 31, 201115 yr Why in the hell would they release it now with FS Flight coming? They say on there forum that it's on "hold", so there ya go. I will bet ANYONE they will NEVER release the 757 for FSX, it maybe be speculation but you'll see. :D Ron Hamilton "95% is half the truth, but most of it is lies, but if you read half of what is written, you'll be okay." __ Honey Boo Boo's Mom
March 31, 201115 yr Moderator I will bet ANYONE they will NEVER release the 757 for FSX, it maybe be speculation but you'll see. :DHow much will you be willing to part with? :( Maybe I should ask, will you feel stupid after making a remark like that when it does come out? I'm sure the folks who pounded their chests saying that the PMDG 737NGX would never see the light of day either, will feel mighty stupid once its released.Even though I speculate for a living, speculating that the thing will never see the light of day, especially when someone who is on the team posted that the project is still on, seems a bit much for me to bet against. March 31, 201115 yr There is no LVLD 757. There is no LVLD 757. There is no LVLD 757. There is no LVLD 757.Move along nothing to see here. Jim Atkins
April 1, 201115 yr Sorry that excuse was good for the first 3 years, now its just lame, and I'm pretty sure most developers are of the part time type. Anyways once the NGX is out this will not be an issue for me anymore anyways. I agree with MrSpeaker. They would have known 3 years ago, after the incredible success of the 767 that any announcement of a 757 would have created hysteria, which it did. Then to hide behind that response of "we're only part time" and then getting anal about people asking in their forums and stone-walling seems incredibly naive for them.If they are so part time, and knowing that development would take years because of it, why announce its existence 3 years ago and expect simmers not to go berserk?Of course, the fan-boy responses like "quality takes time", "good things come to those who wait" are equally lame.DP David Porrett
April 1, 201115 yr +1000. It is a time waste to wait for it. Why not to enjoy something already available like Captain Sim's one?? Life is short. You're wasting time waiting for it? Do you even realize how stupid that sounds? What do you do, stare in front of your computer screen hitting F5 every 5 seconds on their forums for days at a time? There is nothing stopping you FROM enjoying some other addon. Although if you're turning to CS, I have even more pity for you then I already did reading your ridiculous post. AJ Pongress
April 1, 201115 yr Although if you're turning to CS, I have even more pity for you then I already did reading your ridiculous post.LMAO ain't that the truth. The CS 757 is junk. Way too buggy. The QW 757 gives me awful FPS, so I just stick with the Level-D 767. Tired of Streetlights everywhere? Try MSFS DarkStreets today!
April 1, 201115 yr I agree with MrSpeaker. They would have known 3 years ago, after the incredible success of the 767 that any announcement of a 757 would have created hysteria, which it did. Its really almost 6 years ago, the 757 official announcement was first made in 2005.There's no way they have been continously working on this product for almost 6 years, even part time there'sno way it takes this long, so I agree that part time effort alone is really not a good answer for why its not here yet anymore.Clearly some thing (or things) have happened that have caused significant delays this project over time.At this point we have no clue whether they've overcome those delays and are pushing full steam ahead or whether the project is still being dogged by them.Maybe we eventually see it for FSX, but my view is an MS Flight version is becoming more and more likelywhen it finally does comes to fruition.Regards.Ernie.
April 1, 201115 yr Its really almost 6 years ago, the 757 official announcement was first made in 2005.Wow, didn't realise it was that long! With 1 single screenshot in that time, I agree that something doesn't seem right in Camelot.DP David Porrett
April 1, 201115 yr LMAO ain't that the truth. The CS 757 is junk. Way too buggy. The QW 757 gives me awful FPS, so I just stick with the Level-D 767.Thanx for the info on the QW 757. Too bad as it did look and sound very promising :(
April 1, 201115 yr Commercial Member Why in the hell would they release it now with FS Flight coming? They say on there forum that it's on "hold", so there ya go. I will bet ANYONE they will NEVER release the 757 for FSX, it maybe be speculation but you'll see. :DUh maybe because there's absolutely zero information coming out of MS on when Flight is being released, what it entails, whether FSX aircraft are compatible etc? April 1, 201115 yr LMAO ain't that the truth. The CS 757 is junk. Way too buggy. The QW 757 gives me awful FPS, so I just stick with the Level-D 767."Nice" wording there. Find that appropriate? I myself wouldn't call any dev's work the way you did there.Well, the CS stuff is there, gets maintained and (from a guy owning the Level D 767 and the CS stuff) is being used on most of my VATSIM flights. So maybe your "junk" is (apart from the insulting sounding) a very, very personal view, Sir.Nobody at CS has to wait 3 or 6 years for a new model (or a fix for Acceleration users) at an acceptable price. 757? It's already there, the 4.5 version is coming soon and the 4.4 is working.QW also offers some nice 757 rendition, more medium system depth based but well made (had no problems with the fps there so far). So while some fans are waiting for Level D to come up, other guys are able to actually fly the stuff since years.I have no doubt that a new Level D 757 release may get top notch, it would be the very latest programming then. But looking at a black (Level D) hole, not knowing anything about the outcome, and calling other stuff the way you did has some sort of not so sane tendency. We shouldn't fight about personal preference though, the facts alone (two devs are on the market, in very good quality, while your favourite one, obviously, isn't there) render this whole thing to a speculative one, don't you think?
April 1, 201115 yr Thanx for the info on the QW 757. Too bad as it did look and sound very promising :(Not everyone is experiencing bad frames with the QW 757...I have a modest system (Q9550 o'clocked to 3.8 GHz paired with a nVidia 275GTX videocard) and the addon is just fine regarding framerate. Frames are so dependent on the other settings, including traffic, autogen, etc, that it's risky to lay blame on an addon like the QW 757. It's a fine aircraft that I do use although I prefer a Level-d or PMDQ level of complexity.EDIT - and +1 to what CoolP says! Wayne KlocknerUnited Virtual
