July 26, 201114 yr Well have at it. Buy a million. Thats ridiculous IMHO. Been waiting to see the price before googing and gaugging. I will buy the iFly if over 70.00.Why would it be ridiculous ? If you don't care about "realism" you can find cheaper options.I have the ifly.It is a nice plane but by the look of things it does not really come close to the pmdg plane. If in your opinion $80 is too much and it'ìs not value for money then of course you can pick ifly or why not try abacus maybe they have a better one and cheaper.
July 26, 201114 yr If compromise is the huddle, many things would have to be left out of our aircraft. There is a reasonable compromise and there is a compromise that stretches credibility. All simulations are a compromise but some depart just too far from the original to be called 'simulation'. Weather radar within FSX is such an item. As one airline pilot who uses radar on a daily basis said on the PMDG forum - given limits of FSX weather it is simply impossible right now to have a weather radar that you could even remotely call a 'simulation'. July 26, 201114 yr Well have at it. Buy a million. Thats ridiculous IMHO. Been waiting to see the price before googing and gaugging. I will buy the iFly if over 70.00.To each their own. The fact is (based on reports from beta testers) that the PMDG NGX is a more accurate simulation than the iFly and therefore costs more money. If you want to talk about crazy pricing, take a look at Ariane's products. Over $100 for one variant, and in my opinion their product is not as good as the iFly. Shane Gavin
July 26, 201114 yr None of these prices are even remotely 'crazy' or 'gouging'.Look at ELITE products, their MD-80 simulation goes for $299 and there are no cabins, wingviews, exteriors, wings, landing gears, liveries, etc.Yes, I would pay even $150 for an in-dpeth simulation like 737NGX. And the fact that it is "add-on" has nothing to do with it. It has nothing to do with the price of the FSX box - which is just a mass market game with some scenery and sky.PMDG will charge most likely in the $80-$100 range and this is going to be peanuts. Michael J.
July 26, 201114 yr I imagine it costs tens of thousands of dollars to produce it, especially once you factor in payroll etc | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
July 26, 201114 yr No one in their right mind would pay $100 for the add on aircraft. Regarding Ariane's they are complete rip off. I presume the PMDG NGX will probably charge about $65, that's my guessing.Thousands would buy it at 100$ .... the magnitude of 100$ vs. 65$, doesn't constitute you saying people are out of there minds. Now someone paying 500$ for a 65-100$ aircraft is out of their mind.Again, I am predicting $110 USD

July 26, 201114 yr I imagine it costs tens of thousands of dollars to produce it, especially once you factor in payroll etcI would say significantly more than $100 K. but perhaps less than $250K. Michael J.

There were quite a few people working on the Aces Team. The key to profitability is to sell in volume and they will get a lot of buyers the further they stay below $100. Anything higher than $100 will definitely bring down the number of potential buyers. Is there another game out there that sells addons that cost more than what the original game cost? I hope they keep it below $80.Best regards,Jim

July 26, 201114 yr I would be surprised if they decided to break the $100 barrier.... G Gary Davies aka "Gazzareth" Simming since 747 on the Acorn Electron
July 26, 201114 yr I also watched the video. I can't help but wondering if the front cockpitwindows aren't too big. I think it looks absolutely great with the fingerprints and all, but if you compare the dimensions to cockpit photos on airliners.net they seem smaller in real life. Is there anybody who actually sat in a 737 cockpit that can verify this?
July 26, 201114 yr This surely is related to the zoom used in the videos.I can't imagine that they've mixed up size relations on that plane, so maybe wait for the first overall reviews to come up to gain more impressions there, at different zoom levels.

Is there anybody who actually sat in a 737 cockpit that can verify this?It was built to scale using blue prints from Boeing as well as the PMDG guys who were in the cockpit taking photos and measurement. In fact they said they either took hundreds or thousands of photos, but whatever the case the dimensions are correct. Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator
