PMDG 737NGX Video

Knowing the sort of resources PMDG have available to them during development, I'd be shocked if the windows were anything less than spot-on. It's hard to make a judgement call based on a few shots from airliners.net. Lots of factors influence the perceived size and shape of things in photographs, especially the lens focal length. I trust that if they went to insane lengths to get the systems modeling as perfect as possible, they wouldn't let something like sloppy modeling ruin the appearance.

but if you compare the dimensions to cockpit photos on airliners.net they seem smaller in real life.
Airliners.net is hardly a 'real life'. Those photos are usually done with wide angle cameras to capture as much as possible of the cockpit environment and wide angle lenses not only distort dimensions - they would actually make objects further away (windows) to look smaller.

I'm sure the PMDG edition will be very nice and comprehenseive, but some of the comments here are just embarrasing.

Great one too, thanks for the HU. Awaiting the prices and conditions now. Or are they already there?

69.99$ USD was the release price for the FSX deluxe addition ....
and 69.99 in 2006 is about 76 bucks today ..My guess is the NGX will be 85.00

What's embarrasing? For those who want the best 737 that's ever been produced for a desktop sim, there's nothing to be embarrased about. If your embarrassed at our happiness or praise for the NGX then that's on you. I'm never embarrased to express my happiness or worry that my expression of it is going to cause someone else to be embarrased because of it.

I think you've just answered your own question, Jim. :biggrin:Happiness is a great gift, but the sort you sometimes speak of or promote usually takes place in another section of the Avsim forums and holds back quite some people from visiting there, in case you haven't noticed so far.So why not focus on the more compatible one, awaiting progress and some more video/picture/data impressions? :(

Thanks to Nick at AOA, it seems we already have gotten more visuals and in depth system information, then we ever have gotten before for a pre-release of a product!

Thanks

Nick's done a really nice job throwing these videos together for us to watch while we wait. I was really surprised to see him do the one the other day that was an hour long.

After seeing these videos this will be one of the first add-ons I'll get once it's made compatible with 'Flight'. I hope it runs well in the new sim...I had to pass on FSX but an add-on like this makes FSX more of a reality should 'Flight' be a flop... :(

that's quite a far-fetched assumption there Dillon
Well have at it. Buy a million. Thats ridiculous IMHO. Been waiting to see the price before googing and gaugging. I will buy the iFly if over 70.00.
The PMDG 737 NGX was just announced at $69.99 for the 800/800WL and 900/900WL base package.

Then an extra $25 for the 600-700I am happy, can get my favourite for under $100. I am MORE than happy to pay this!

This works well for me because I fly for American Virtual Airlines, and they use the 737-800/800WL so I only have to buy the base package. Something tells me though that I won't be able to resist the other variants. The nice thing to know is that we won't simply be paying for a different visual model of the exterior, but the actual differences in performance between the variants are modeled.
