Purely speculation, but perhaps they believe they wouldn't be able to sell nearly as many -900s and -600s if they didn't combine them with the two more popular models? Again, before I get flamed, that's pure speculation. I have no problem whatsoever with the way the packages are configured currently. I'll buy the -800 and the -900 and more than likely forgo the -600 and the -700. I know I've asked this question twice before, but I'm interested in how the -ER package is going to work, i.e. do I need to buy the 6700 package to be able to utilize the -700ER? Or alternatively, is it simply a modification of the models you've purchased? -johnny rodgers

Yeah... i kinda agree with that... Maybe it's a thing of pride. They worked on the 600 and 900 just as much as they did on the 700 and 800, and i guess they wouldn't like to see the cast aside. Also, maybe they thought that $70 would be ok for 2 variants, but 35 for such a complex airplane just wouldn't cut it. $35 is what the RealAir Turbine Duke is going for, and while it is a great plane, it can't compare to PMDG's work. On the other hand, what were they to do? Charge $55 each for the individual 800 or 700 and something like $20 for the individual 600 and 900? How many people would pay over twice as much for a few feet of extra airframe and some added prestige? My opinion is they chose the best solution. The other options were either pack all of them together and hear all the complaints from people that they just want the 700 and not the other, and why should they pay $100-$120 for just the one they're going to use, or have individual packs for each variant, in which case the updates could get messy, and PMDG would probably loose big time because they cannot price all the variants the same (or they would price them the same and no one would buy the 600 and 900). Again, this is the best solution. Good job, PMDG! Also... what would be the point of having an 700 pack and a 700ER pack? Wouldn't it be better to just have a base 700 pack and add an update over it to make it an 700ER?

Thank you PMDG for your hard and tireless work. Thank you for not giving in to the pressure of hurrying the project to the detriment of quality. I will buy and fly all models but put my vote in for BBJs.

Unfortunately, I won't be buying it any time soon. Had a look at the finances with the wife yesterday and just can't afford it, much to my disappointment. MSFS is my one opportunity to relax at the end of a long day trying to make my business grow and I just can't afford to keep up with the prices of products now. Wish there was another way to get it.

Well if by release date there is anyone that does not have a full name in their post you will have to pay 400$ for the base package and that only includes the 700 with the left wing only and no engines... ......

The NGX will not come before August 2nd So I suggest everyone to catch up on sleep and not bother to stay up waiting for the release. Why you may ask? Simple. The US Debt argument going on right now will need to reach a decision August 2nd. After that, PMDG will make a change in price (if they have to) according to how much the US dollar has appreciated or (more likely) depreciated. Right now, this weekend and until wednesday PMDG will just be on the lookout to see how the debate is going. They will not release the product for 75 bucks only for the USD to depreciate. They'll lose revenue. So my bet will be on a August 4th release with an announcement the day before that the price of the product has gone up, or they just changed the currency to Euros (I doubt that will happen, the USD has depreciated too much, but more than likely they will raise the price if congress don't come to a decision and the USD depreciates). So no release today, tomorrow, monday, tuesday and even wednesday I bet. Maybe not even this week if the US debt fiasco has a surprise ending.Karan

Fantastic news, I'm not a huge poster on these forums but I'm an avid reader and would like to express my thanks to the team for all their hard work. I think if the dollar tanked ( I really doubt this) the release day would be the least of most peoples problems. I'm sure PMDG are more busy preparing for the release then focusing on Washington
