Considering:- he said coming from PMDG it (the next secret project) will surprise us- he mentions it after the major releases (777, 747)- and a major release would be in a peak development phase (not a trough, where the J41 and DC-6 falls)...I would make two logical guesses.#1 An Airbus A319-320OR#2 Boeing 767-400An airbus would be surprising coming from PMDG, since to date the majority have been Boeing with a few smaller manufacturers mixed in.An airbus would be a major development project due to the FBW systems, etc.He also frequently jokes about Airbus towards the end, and RSR is notorious for hiding things in plane sight. (get it? :()IF it somehow isn't an airbus, the only other thing it could be in my opinion is a 767.They stated they won't do a 757 because of level-d, but a 767-400 is a very useful and popular airplane that is currently still in production. A 767-400 also has a glass cockpit, so it would share a lot of the same underworkings that the NG, the 777, and the 747 will eventually all share.Plus, I think the dimensions of the 767 cockpit section is identical to the 777? Pretty sure I read that somewhere.I don't see it being a turboprop plane, because they already mention the DH-8 and if it's not that why would it be another turboprop.Classics wouldn't fall into a major release either, since they chose that to be in their trough development periods. All that really leaves is...well, the 787.If it's the 787 I would literally fall out of my chair, but seeing as the airplane is so new and was just recently delivered to the first customer, their access to a real one at this point would be pretty limited, in my opinion.I really can't think of anything else it could be.Secretly, I pray, pray, and pray it's the EMB-120, but that falls completely out of all my logic. (I can still dream!)

767-400 is not still in production

And it's not popular either. Only 50 or so produced right?

Only Delta and Continental!

If it is an Airbus, since FSL is doing the A320 series, and they say may do the A330/340, could the secret project be an A380?
As an Airbus fan I would pass out if they announced the A380.

Surprises = classics? 747-200?Wait and see. Until then we will have J41,Dash 8, 737-600, 737-700, 737-800, 737-900, 747-400, (-8 models and LCF), 777-200LR, 777-300ER (and probably at the very least the 777-200ER at some point, maybe even the 777-200 and -300) and last but not least the MD-11 to enjoy.

But they do have something in common... Build the best and make it better.

Well there definitely was a lot of interesting things in the video, I wont go at guessing anything about the new secret project, when he said it would be surprising I just thought it would probably not be something Boeing, because that's what you can expect from the range of their products already, so another Boeing whichever it is would not really be a surprise. But anyway if it's not boeing there are just many thing that could be done I guess so I'll just wait for the announcement, there is already a lot of great stuff coming let's say during the next twelve months which I guess will keep them quite busy before it comes to this project :DIt was really nice to see the video of the presentation, and I sure wish I could have tried to win a PMDG Model that would've been really nice :D

Seeing it put up like this, I feel ashamed to even ask for more! Flying more types than this in 1 year, will simply affect my flying quality - I simply wouldn't have the time to get into the systems good enough to actually deserve to fly a PMDG product. PMDG - dont' release more products in 2012 ;)Mas

I said it on another post but what an exciting next couple of years its going to be for us pc pilots!

#1 An Airbus A319-320OR#2 Boeing 767-400
It doesn't have to be that complicated. If you develop a 319, you basically develop an a320 and 321 too (airbus' philosophy to make the flightdeck uniform so airlines don't have to spend much time and money certifying their pilots to different types) Which would fit in PMDG's current philosophy where they build a platform from where they work on (737, T7 and 747) to make their developement process more effecient.Add to that that the airbus is a plane that you see a lot on airports throughout the world and you have a product that PMDG could be interested in. With comments like "We have absolutely no agreements not to make an Airbus " from Ryan paving the way, it looks very promissing. And to take it even a step further; capt Randazzo going to London for business with British Airways as one of the major carriers with airbusses in their fleet....Man I am on a roll here speculating till infinity and beyond... But one can always hope right.....
