April 21, 201214 yr Anyone else feeling the cost of their addiction to the NGX? Counting this i've spend around $140 USD on all of this.... Oh ya ...140$?...i spent that on beer just getting through the tutorials. I have sunk well over $1000.00usd on this "stuff" and still going .There is always something coming that has that WOW factor just around the bend :help:

April 21, 201214 yr Moderator Can recommend 100% just pull the trigger and get it you wont be disappointed Just do it man... Mas Well try this http://www.youtube.c...bed/mTv7vqKjRWU . It should push you over the edge, Frank has others there also. Like others have said just buy it, you WILL NOT be disappointed! You are enjoying every second of your NGX flying, aren' t you ? Well, try FS2Crew Voice control and you'll never ever consider flying without it......if you go back and fly the NGX without it you'll feel as if you are in different aircraft...!!! I lasted about a week after i just discovered the videos. Come over to the dark side, we have cookies. (and anything fs2crew lets you order from the flight attendant in cruise) :LMAO: I model bleeds offs procedures for departure and approach, nuanced cold weather procedures, multiple external power configurations... but at the end of the day most of my users only care about the cookies  Can recommend 100% Most recommended. The voice version is a blast once you get used to it. Too bad my mic broke and I have to dumb down to the button version :Loser: Thanks for the encouragement fellows :-) Yeah I will have to give it some serious consideration. Guess one of the main things was just that I wasn't sure I wanted to invest the time to learn how to get it setup and running. Seemed like one of those obscure things that since I hadn't really seen much video of it, I wasn't sure how much work it would be to set up. After all the hours I spent tweaking EZdok when it first came out, I have decided to stick to addons that you can install and go with minimal fuss. April 22, 201214 yr Yeah I will have to give it some serious consideration. Guess one of the main things was just that I wasn't sure I wanted to invest the time to learn how to get it setup and running The longest part is that if you going to use voice you need to do the voice training first once you done this a few times then the rest is easy, this version is the most simple and easist of the rest of them. April 22, 201214 yr Guess one of the main things was just that I wasn't sure I wanted to invest the time to learn how to get it setup and running. You're looking at 20-30 mins TOTAL. That's including DL time and install. The speechtraining in windows are about 2-3 mins, and then you're all set. Thats totally objective - no advertisement. I would count in 3-4 flights before you can complete an entire flight without refferring to the manual just once. Seeing you're from the states, you'll have no problem adjusting to the accent. The FO will understand you right away ;) Not even shure you need to run the speech training, but it's always a good idea. Once you totally in to the procedures, it's jsut so awesome... This is the best "tool" when flying online... Imagine you're online, and being vectored into final. You're getting speed restrections, altitude restrictions and headings. Before you had to use energy and focus to turn the MCP yourself, always loosing track of where you were going - overshooting headings, bursting FLs... I always felt that being vecored into final doing everything yourself was more likea controlled spin and crash into the airport rather that controlled flying. With Fs2Crew you can actually "relax" and concentrate on flying to the letter, and letting your FO set heading, altitudes, speed, setting up for approach, setting up the "next" frequency in the STNDBY Comm panel (one of the greates assets if you ask me). It's just a MUST HAVE. MAs Mas Martin Jensen
April 22, 201214 yr Such a great addon, one of the best I've purchased, well done Bryan!! Maybe a little more variety for the Cain crew's voices? Z. C
April 22, 201214 yr Commercial Member Not even shure you need to run the speech training, but it's always a good idea. All voice control users need to run the voice training, even Americans with the most neutral, crystal clear mid-west accent one can muster. B. April 23, 201214 yr All voice control users need to run the voice training, even Americans with the most neutral, crystal clear mid-west accent one can muster. Well I set it up today. Firstly let me say that doing the widows tutorial was worth the $50 bucks alone! Im blown away with windows 7 voice control, you can do EVERYTHING via voice I got the captains pack with 737 pilot describing all systems, very good value the crew is great fun and I now find myself looking forward to doing the pre flight cold n dark and enjoying it immensely where before it was a real drag defiantly worth the money...beg borrow or steal its a must have ZORAN
April 23, 201214 yr Anyone here bothering with button edition at all? Yes I'm currently using the button version and enjoying it. I intend to try out the voice version when I get a headset in the next few days but I suspect that it will be harder work, having to learn the exact phrases to say in order to get a response. I'm 68 so learning new things doesn't come as easy as it used to. Still, if it's too much hassle I'll go back to the button version! :lazy: Iain Smith
April 23, 201214 yr Read the manual first. Print out the manual and the flows and you'll be fine. It's not much of a learning curve at all. The Pilot Flying Flows do involve you throwing some switches (Engine idle levers during startup, FMC prep, IRS aligning, calling for flaps etc.) The FO will take care of most procedures and you have to respond back with your voice to confirm them What's the fun in letting the copilot do all the work and just confirming them?
