June 7, 201312 yr How do I know what I'm using???? If you have to ask...you are probably using DX9. But you can confirm with this. MENU Options-->Settings-->Display (Tab->"Graphics"), see if "Preview DirectX 10" is checked...if its not, then you are using DX9 Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter
June 7, 201312 yr Orbx FTX Global will be DX-10 compatible. Are you sure the FTX Global night lightning would work in DX10? Haven't seen that confirmed by Orbx(or I may have missed it). FTX regions night lightning is not compitable.....
June 7, 201312 yr Commercial Member DX9, I didn't seem to get much benefit from DX10 when I tried it.

June 7, 201312 yr Here is a old vid. I made when testing DX10, is it perfect...naaaa....but better compare to DX9 for me. Everything maxed out but car traffic, LOD at 9.5 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NAznmL0fWcY
June 7, 201312 yr With ATI cards, DX10 had no working vsync (unless that's been addressed?), My understanding is that RadeonPro fixes this, at least i'm pretty sure that user "cvearl" said that. I tried DX10, really like it; but found that EGCC xtreme with AES just looked awful at night, solid grey textures. In the end too many compromises, so i moved back to DX9 Ian R Tyldesley
