How do I know what I'm using????

If you have to ask...you are probably using DX9. But you can confirm with this.

MENU  Options-->Settings-->Display (Tab->"Graphics"), see if "Preview DirectX 10" is checked...if its not, then you are using DX9

Orbx FTX Global will be DX-10 compatible.

Are you sure the FTX Global night lightning would work in DX10? Haven't seen that confirmed by Orbx(or I may have missed it).

FTX regions night lightning is not compitable.....

DX9, I didn't seem to get much benefit from DX10 when I tried it.

Performance vice I didn't get much either from DX10...but FS9 is often unusable for me because of OOMs.

Correcting myself, It's confirmed by JV FTX Global will be 100% DX10 compitable.

Water crest sparkle works just fine for me in DX9 mode with REX Essential.

yes thanks. I found dxdiag and discovered as you say I an running DX9

With ATI cards, DX10 had no working vsync (unless that's been addressed?),

My understanding is that RadeonPro fixes this, at least i'm pretty sure that user "cvearl" said that.

I tried DX10, really like it; but found that EGCC xtreme with AES just looked awful at night, solid grey textures. In the end too many compromises, so i moved back to DX9

DX9.  Trying to avoid tweaks and other intricate moving parts as much as possible.
