[RESOLVED] Your website is slow - Don't blame ISPs!

I hate to say it, but we're slow again! Load times up to 2 minutes and even then more data is still loading from ads.avsim.net for up to another 45 seconds. I've cleared my Cache as well as my AVSIM cookie, which in the past usually cleared the problem, but it had no effect this time. I have a 43Mbs Verizon FIOS connection for my ISP. This just started happening this afternoon. The morning session load times were good!!

Thanks

Tom

Ditto here the last hour. Prior to that was as per normal, i.e. loading pages fairly fast.

20 sec. page loading times at my end. (all pages)

Mine too, this is the slowest I have seen it. At first I thought it was my phone then tried on my desk top and got the same results. It was working fine last night and this morning but something seems to have happened between then.

Here it's very slow too.

Took over a minute to get to change between pages.

This afternoon (Dutch time) it was faster/normal

It was fine this morning, but for whatever reason, it got very slow this afternoon. I didn't have any of the previous problems regarding the site being slow that others said they were having.

Live streams of my flights here.

It has go worse again recently. It took 45 sec to load this thread after clicking its link at the top of the main forum page.  That was after more than 20 sec to load that page.

I use IE9 and don't experience such delays on any other site, flight sim related or otherwise. the conclusion must be that  the problems particular to AVSIM.

EDIT it took 15 sec to post this!

EDIT And 30 sec to post the edit

Hello  Tom

After seeing some improvement since the last slowdown, the speed is now even worse.

The site is now unusable for me this evening, hope you get it fixed soon.

Comparable times to load first page in last few minutes:

AVSIM 40 sec

FlightSim 4 sec

FSDeveloper 2 sec

Something is wrong

I said it before...you guys gotta try fiddler, it will show you what is slow.

10700k / Gigabyte 3060

I don't know if you guys are testing something at the moment, because Avsim is painfully slow loading up at the moment for me...

There's one thing new I noticed, that I hadn't before. At the bottom of the page is a logo from network solutions that indicates this sites data is encrypted. It is also the last thing that loads.  Assuming this is new, it could be the encryption of the data, that is slowing things up. (As we know Avsim has tons of data)  If so hopefully it's just a matter of optimizing the settings to correct the issue. (Note this is only my hypothesis!!)

Thanks

Tom
