April 19, 201313 yr Does anyone know whether the Dash 8 will have the ability to assign keyboard commands to the custom Autopilot functions etc? (Either thorough a GUI, or FSUIPC Mouse Macros, or a Lua script etc) ? +1. I wonder too. Best regards, Fritz ESSONO
April 19, 201313 yr I have created an account on the "JustFlight" webpage, rather disconcertingly it asked for my cc details and i don't appear to be able to purchase / pre-purchase the aircraft, a little worried now... Ian R Tyldesley
April 19, 201313 yr JustFlight page is up... now I know what I'll be refreshing for the next day or so. http://www.justflight.com/product/dash-8-q400-pilot-edition-fsx-download Elijah HoytCFI, CFII, CMEL, CSEL, CSES, IFR
April 19, 201313 yr I imagine it'll be realeased Saturday day time.....WESTERN USA TIME, muhahaha. Wait, why am I laughing :( I need this plane! Karl Brooker
April 19, 201313 yr "Changing the Steering Control Mode Due to the fact that the Dash - 8 steering requires a steering tiller to operate on the ground, we provide several ways to control the tiller: “ Mouse only ” : It is always possible to drag the tiller handle (in the virtual cockpit) with the mouse. “ Ailerons+Mouse ” : Tiller will be linked to the aileron axis below 40kts Indicated Airspeed. When selecting this option, do not forget to defer the application of the ailerons on takeoff and landings (especially for crosswind compensation) “ Spoiler axis ” : The FSX spoiler axis are operating the tiller. Use this function when the dedicated hardware steering axis are available." Who came up with this...... seriously? you can't connect the tiller handle to the rudder??? Kind regardsR.G
April 19, 201313 yr Who came up with this...... seriously? you can't connect the tiller handle to the rudder??? Whilst hating to sound like captain obvious I have to agree 100%
April 19, 201313 yr In the real aircraft I believe that rudder steering is only operational over a certain speed. When on your TO run the tiller steer becomes inop over a certain speed and you then have to use rudders to steer. When you try it you will see that is not an issue at all. April 19, 201313 yr I think it sounds excellent to finally not have an aircraft where the steering is linked to the rudder... ^_^ Regards, Ró. Rónán O Cadhain.
April 19, 201313 yr I seem to recall their Q300 worked the same way...the aileron method seemed to work pretty easily. Dave Current System (Running at 4k): ASUS ROG STRIX X670E-F, Ryzen 7800X3D, RTX 5090, 55" Samsung Q80T, 64GB DDR5 6000 RAM, EVGA CLC 280mm AIO Cooler, Brunner CLS-E NG Yoke, Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS & Stick, Thrustmaster TCA Quadrant & Add-on, VirtualFly Ruddo+, TQ6+ and Yoko+, GoFlight MCP-PRO and EFIS, Skalarki FCU and MCDU
April 19, 201313 yr Guys, Assigning a separate 'tiller axis' is not something new at all... This is already possible with some other add-ons (A2A B377 comes to mind) or/and by using a registered version of FSUIPC (and it's very easily done). Best regards, Fritz ESSONO
April 19, 201313 yr I'm glad they updated their site. I've always looked at their aircraft but held off due to how unprofessional their site appeared. I'm really psyched for this bird though, can't wait to jump in and learn the systems. EDIT - What time-zone is this going to be released in? Bryan Ott
