I would pay for something like this ... or at least donate :)

Thank you!

Fantastic that it suggests from jv at orbx that Steve's program might be out in a week! His fixes for dx10 so far have been so helpful. I'm all for buying it to support him and as thanks for his generosity to date in helping the fsx community and of course for the new fixes. Really hoping for orbx night lights and aerosoft airports to work at night!

I know that there is lots of effort on this but I think making it free but having a donation would be better. I will be buying anyways.

Everything he has done so far has been free. He had to put so much time in this piece of software, that I totally understand him charging us for his time working on this.

This program is very valuable and is almost a true update to the old FSX code, so with things like this I don't even feel bad about my wallet.

And I'm sure he won't charge a ridiculous price.

I think that Steve's tool is cheaper than a new FSX DX10 version

Hi Paul, can you confirm if Addon Converter X is still required for some scenarios, or is it made completely redundant by Steve's tool?

In my humble opinion do something that requires payment having to solve all the problems, if I feel good that one can donate to support somehow their time invested.

Yeah - it'll be redundant, Dylan, but then - Addon Converter X was never built to make "the FSX world" DX10 compatible - it was released to correct the backward compatibility problems which some (DX9) addons suffered with.

Thanks for the insight Paul!

Even more excited to know that it should be all I need for DX10 (Addon Converter has been a good interim solution, but has some known compatibility issues with FTX...)

what about VC shadows. Will it work in all cockpits? or only where it work at this moment?

Hope to see this in the NGX and T7.

Thanks

Anybody know if this will fix the nav, strobe and beacon lights on some planes?  This is the only thing preventing me from using DX10.  On most of the aircrafts (including default), the nav and strobe lights only appear from certain camera angles.

Probably sometime in September, optimistically.

I have never tried DX10. I have FSX Acceleration version. I fly only the PMDG NGX and soon the upcoming 777. I have all the top scenery from FT, FB, FSDT, Aerosoft. I want to try DX10 when Steve releases this program (will gladly pay for it). Do I have to do anyting with my scenery or .cfg files etc... prior to selecting DX10? I don't want to start making a bunch of changes without backing things up first in case I need to revert to DX9.

As well, after Steve releases this program, is it thought that all remaining DX10 issues will be rectified? As in whether or not the PMDG planes and various scenery is/was designed to work with DX10, it will now work with DX10 thanks to Steve's program?
