What about a "donate" process. I'm ready to pay 30 $ for this stuff.

Inspector settings still need to be set, but it's becoming a "no-brainer", as Steve has incuded a listbox (pre-release preview!) which enables one to choose the level of AA/CSAA within the Fixer, this then modifying the two settings which one currently has to enter manually in the fsx.cfg.

MultiSamplesPerPixel=4  and...  MultiSampleQuality=8

All that's necessary then, is for one to set the Transparency SuperSampling (SGSS) level in Inspector to the same number as the MultiSamplesPerPixel in the cfg file.

All the Best,

pj

Excellent.  Thanks for your help and patience answering our DX10 questions.

We're very excited now that it's pretty much finished.  I hope Steve finds a way to sell it soon.

Indeed... I am a bit surprised he apparently didn't think about it before...? I do however see the app is quite simple (how it looks, not all that goes on behind it ^_^ ) and the only really new thing wil be that it solves the FTX Global lights so in that regard I can wait a while longer. If Steve would have solved the DX10 tooltips problem I'd be a bit more anxious to get it!  ^_^

Whaaaat??

Now, just trying to figure out how to actually sell it.

Oh my!?

I was hoping for this about next week... but maybe in time for Christmas?

Whatever he does, it better have one of the best anti-pirate protections out there because sadly I can see tons of people feeling 'entitled' to a DX10 patch.

LOL, too true ... within hours of PMDG 777 release I had a "friend of a friend" with a stolen/hacked copy (sad but true) giving it to his other friends, might be why the 777 cost $90 (factor in 10-25% lost revenue from theft).

If the sale process is not yet chosen, it could take months

Why?  PayPal to Steve's account ... setting up a PayPal account takes minutes if Steve doesn't already have one.

This question may have already been answered and I just have overlooked it but to prepare for the big day next week - how do we handle all the tweaks made using the "DX10 How to do Guide"? Will the "fixer" just overwrite the shaders, lights, etc or should I remove everything prior to using Steve's new software?

This is a very good suggestion, Rob - I used it for the first time after I mentioned (here) that my 580 was up for grabs. I had no idea how to arrange the payment, thinking that COD worked between Canada Post and the US Postal Service .... well it doesn't. I did have a buyers PayPal account, however (doesn't everybody?), and within about ten minutes it was set up to receive payments, too. I would think this might be an admirable way to do it, except that it wouldn't be automated.

^^ good question Carl. Also thinking of uninstalling Addon Coverter X...

That's what I mean in my previous message. Setting up a whole e-sales web site or publishing a software on a large simulation shop is time consuming. Accepting paypal paiement is easy, but believe me, if you don't automate anything, I predict that delivery will be slow... Need to take paiement emails into account, generate some type of install key, send email with product key and links to download, etc... Again, even with a simple paypal solution, will either take weeks to be online or will be totally manual with related customer dissatisfaction...

Don't misunderstand my sayings : I am really happy of Steve's amazing work so far and will buy the fixer as soon as it is available. But I will probably not be alone and manual sales is time consuming.

Please advice if this will work with the T777, if it does I'm in - if not I'm out, I hope it will that would be great.

Is the PMDG stuff not dx10 compatible?  For some reason I was thinking it was.

Oh my... did I say something wrong...?  ^_^

I am running the T7 in DX10 mode, no issues to report (yet :) )
