FSX Fiber Accelerator?

Enquiry:Like you I have 3 monitors in surround. My resolution is 5760x1080Each monitor is 60HzA GTX780 cardIn NI vsyc I have a 1/2 refresh rate.I always use full screen mode (Alt + Ent)-------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------You indicate that it is better vsyc standard. Or even vsyc OFF.According to my parameters above, What do you think is the best settings I should try?Should lower the frequency of my monitor at 50Hz?Should turn OFF vsyc?Or another review I found above this forum says:Why would you want to use adaptive Vsync When you can get triple buffered Vsync in full screen mode and in windowed mode?I have tried to understand this but can not find someone to explain me. Can you please help me understand what is best?Thank you

Reference.

With Vsync off the framerate is a little better but the possibility for jitters or tearing is greater.

I have saved a Flight with the worst framerate scenario and tested it .

Vsync on then was the best.

For v1.2 it is better on my system with Vsync off.

I cannot tell any details yet but FSX FA has become even beter...

More or less yes. It is based however mostly on where FA is focused. Lower the number( focus on frames, less efficiency) higher the number (frames + graphics = higher efficiency)

Is there a v1.2 available? I am at v1.1 and the updater says no updates available.

Hello,

I have downloaded the Microsoft.Net Frame 3.5.1 and when I try to install it, it tells me that I already have this version, but I can not see it in " Control Panel -> Programs" , also not in " View Installed updates" .

What I see installed is : Microsoft.Net Framework 4.5.

Will it still function?????

Nothing  about  is confusing on what he  says,  you got 5  by 1 hour time limits if your using the demo,  if for instance you start fsx and fa at the same time  by the time you start your engines and set up fmc  etc  you have wasted  about  2o minutes or so of  the I hour time limit.

Now if you start  fsx set your aircraft engines fmc  and  taxi to the rwy  than start fa  than you got a full hour of  use of  fa  to see how it performs

Since no one has actually answered your question my friend, allow me to help out...

'etc' should have had a period 'etc.'.

It is a shortened form for the latin phrase "et cetera" that translates in English to "and so forth".

I purchased FSX Fiber Accelerator but unfortunately it had no impact on improving my frame rates at all.  I tried it with my QW 757 and PMDG 747-8 at KJFK.  I also had Ultimiate Traffic 2 with my traffic set at 38% and my other settings in FSX at the minimums.  I Set my FSX Target rates at 50%.  I was not sure where it should be set at.  My frame rates at KJFK and KSFO are terrible.  This problem started after I purchased add on airports for these two and messed up my frame rates big time, so I disabled and then uninstalled but it is as though they have contaminated my frame rates in FSX.  I was hoping that the Fiber Accelerator would help.

You should have tried the free trial version first.

Why would you want to use adaptive Vsync when you can get triple buffered Vsync in full screen mode and in windowed mode?

...

So you set your minimum target (in the FA GUI) based on your worst performing situation in FSX.

Best scenarios (cruising) should hit your maximum target (the one you set in FSX before starting FA) and would act as a limiter and if not set unrealisticly high, also max out texture loading at that stage

Thanks so much for your explanation, thought infact it was like you said.

You can see all the versions you have installed by going to C:\Windows\Microsoft.net\Framework\(then the various versions). There will be a \Framework64 folder there too but you only need the 32 bit versions installed. You should see versions 1.1 through the latest installed.

Moderators,

Whilst there was a couple of posts that caused this huge discussion to be flagged things have now calmed down to the point where I think you can remove the warning. Unless your view differs of course.

The warning flag does tend to attract people hoping to see an argument raging.

Personally, I think this thread has become too big and unweildy to glean much information from it.  I would like to see it locked and this discussion moved to its on FSPS forum, OR at least people post their own threads about the product or topic so that we can get to the heart of the questions being asked.

Best regards,

Can someone clear this up for me...Mine lists 3.5.

How do I know for sure if I have 3.5 SP1 installed?

I thought the V1.1 installer ensured that the needed files were installed?

My FA seems to work as advertised.  I do get a good experience when I fly from an area of demanding use.

But, when I fly outside of a demanding area I do not get a smooth a flight as I would if I had no FA.  When I shut off FA I do not return to my normal default performance.  If I reboot FSX I can fly those non demanding areas with very very high frames and smooth flight. IE around Orbx Crater Lake I can hit 30 frames and stay there continually but with FA running I only get say 18 and when I shut off FA because I am getting blurries my frames never go back up to the 30 I get from a cold start of FSX.

3.51 does not show up in Programs & Features as it is installed with windows 7 & 8. You need to click on the left menu in P &  F and select "Turn Windows features on & Off and scroll down till you see it. Make sure it is ticked. I found mine un ticked, and I suspect that something I installed turned it off.
