Rob, I am currently accepting donations for any amount of Titan X's. Your generosity is appreciated.

Same here. Planned the major upgrade in a next 2 weeks, but have to postpone now in anticipation of the news.

9950X3D, X870E ROG CROSSHAIR HERO, Corsair Dominator Titanium 64GB DDR5-6000 PC5-48000, ASUS RTX 5070Ti 16GB, 9100 PRO 4TB Samsung ,990 PRO 4TB Samsung,  AX1600i 1600 Watt 80 Plus Titanium ATX, ASUS 360 ARGB EXTREME 360mm Liquid CPU Cooling Kit.

Right on schedule.  I'm pretty excited about this.

Here's a refresh of the link that romainchair (gives me unusual visuals as my wife often likes to make ceasar salads for dinner) posted, thanks for that.  Very informative.

That's what is expected from SLI in general, always depend on the game.

I believe if you are looking for a fix to the stutter issue, this is going to be it.  I've always been arguing that it is bandwidth more than 64bit that is the issue, and SLI will give 2x bandwidth to the cards.  Then there are the jaggies that and dense effects issues that slow things down on a single card.  This is what a true SLI profile will fix.  As for framerates, I'm not as clear on that, but I am optimistic about the possibilities of better than 50% increase ... on a non-cpu bound system.  I say it that way in that maybe it is the bandwidth from the cpu to gpu that is the issue.  P3D pushes more textures in the weather engine than I think the devs realize (a hint about the "randomness" of the OOMs)  In the end I would be ecstatic with just a mild increase in FPS if it allows me an even softer and smooth rendering.  I ordered a second EVGA GTX 780 SC ACX when I saw the post last night.  I really think this might be a fix more than a new GPU and CPU/RAM.  P3D is the a strange animal, with it's amazingly massive amount of texels flying about in it's renderings.

Another note, for those that care about 3d renderings, for oculus or cardboard ... and you WILL ...  is that SLI is supposed to definitely impact framerates in 3d renderings.  With P3Ds new method of using the same computational scene for different views this might be significant.    Eagerly awaiting delivery of hardware and driver.

Agree with other comments.

I don't really need more FPS, but woukd rather just hopefully be more locked to 30fps in all weather and lighting scenarios.

Just smoother and more consistent is what really helps a flight sim be immersive.

Very true and what I'm also hoping for will be included/fixed now that Nvidia has finally opened their eyes for us P3D users is they will fix the AA issue..

Does this mean the 1/2 refresh rate vsync trick will be working for prepar3d??  I know in FSX that was the best thing since sliced bread for me.  Fingers crossed...

Dan

Phew, better late than never.

Time to order 2 more Titan X's -- it'll be interesting to see how it scales.

Cheers, Rob.

Wow, 3x SLI Titan X! You're rich, Rob.

I consider 2x Titan X is the absolutely max I'd ever spend... how to sneak such purchase under the radar of my home CFO aka wife is the major obstacle..

9950X3D / 64GB / RTX5090 / Pimax Crystal Light / Win11

I would like to know if the drivers/profile is going to help single GTX's?

I'm curious about this too. The ability to lock vsync at 1/2 refresh rate of the monitor would be a game-changer for me.

Matt

Also make sure your power supply is sufficient to power two graphics cards.

With hindsight, I should have installed a bigger power supply when I got my PC,  My power supply is 600W.  I'm running a 970GTX on it already.  Will it be able to cope with another?

It isn't just the overall power, you need an sli capable psu. My 750W psu from a very reputable manufacturer wasn't up to the job of sli with 970s and shut down every time sli enabled. Once I got an sli rated psu everything was fine!

You need to make sure each rail can provide enough current for each card. Best to check the compatibility before buying and make sure it is certified for sli.

Chris

Thanks

What model is your PSU?

When running SLI for Sniper Elite III, you literally cannot touch the back of my computer or the DVI connectors.  And I have LOTS of cooling. Let's see how much heat I get with P3D and that will be a quick indication of how much load the cards are handling.
