May 15, 201511 yr Never run SLI, so two quick questions. 1. Should both GPU be identical? 2. Is 1000W PSU enough to run 2x980? May 15, 201511 yr I currently have 1 GTX 670 FTW running 3 X 24" (6000 x 1200 resolution) + 19" touch screen monitor. I am ok with the low AA settings I have..But I cannot fly with lots of clouds... Q1 Should I get another GTX 670 and SLI or do I go with 1 GTX 970? Q2. would it be worth going for a GTX 970 SLI? Q3) Would I be able to have GTX 970 and my old GTX 670 in my PC (non SLI) and plug in more monitors? like say... 4 monitors on the GTX 970 and 2 or 3 more monitors (to be used for GPS, CDU etc) in the second card (GTX 670?)? I was just reading up and coming up to speed on SLI which I had never bothered to read earlier. I do not play anything game..totally dedicated to Flight simming. http://www.geforce.com/whats-new/guides/introduction-to-sli-technology-guide#3 Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter

May 15, 201511 yr I last used SLI three or four years ago. Isn't there an issue with using dual monitors in full screen mode? Since P3D runs in a "faux" full screen mode is that a problem? Can I have say - cockpit VC on one monitor and an external spot view on the other monitor with SLI? Jeff Jeff Callender

May 15, 201511 yr As some of the more popular Y.. T..e computer commentary sites are foreshadowing an end to SLI with the release of DX12, as well as AMD dropping Mantle, the ability shortly to run SLI in P3D is therefore most probably "too little, too late." I would hold off purchasing until the situation clarifies.

May 15, 201511 yr I have a bit amateurish question - if P3D wasn't originally designed for SLI, what benefits SLI would bring to the sim? Wouldn't be like multi-core CPU that does almost nothing for FSX/P3D? 9950X3D, X870E ROG CROSSHAIR HERO, Corsair Dominator Titanium 64GB DDR5-6000 PC5-48000, ASUS RTX 5070Ti 16GB, 9100 PRO 4TB Samsung ,990 PRO 4TB Samsung, AX1600i 1600 Watt 80 Plus Titanium ATX, ASUS 360 ARGB EXTREME 360mm Liquid CPU Cooling Kit.
May 15, 201511 yr I doubt that Lockheed Martin or Nvidia would bother announcing SLI compatibility for P3D unless it provides at least some benefits.
