It looks about the same as the competing product Zinertek's Tree Environment X. Is anybody getting the "performance improvement"?

I seem to have better fps also about 10 fps on avg

10 fps?!!! Or did you mean 10% Rich?

I believe they say up to 20%.

50 fps to 60 fps is both 10 fps and 20% improvement.

I reckon what this means in practice is that most people can go one notch higher on the autogen density.

Anybody notice more shimmering?

If one ignores the lack of undercarriage, it's actually quite a nice landing.

FPS but Rob has told me has not seen this so have to revisit - whats going on is they have mixed in color within the groups of trees so it looks less repetitive which is a very nice touch especially in fall - one other thing I noticed is sprinkled single trees all over which I dont recall being like that before - hmm - see if I can post a pic in a min

just downloaded FTX Trees! I haven't really tested a whole lot but out of the box I cannot confirm nor see an FPS increase...

Just got it...$14 U.S. Flew around Kentucky here - a 20 mile round trip over the hills of Kentucky K69-1A6...K-69(my Knox County,KY scenery) ...its in the Library here.

...I think I can see a subtle difference but not any revelatory frame per second increase....I'm fixed at 33 fps, and for me that should be a six frame per second increase… Which I do not see.

...more later ...and yes it looks great but…

No VAS hit!

Very bold statement...not sure about that one.

Just a couple of notes:

1) Every now and then I see folks testing products that offer better frame rates yet still have their FPS locked, whether it's in the sim or using video driver software (e.g. nVidia Inspector).

2) My assumption regarding ORBX's FPS claim is that it would have to do with a CPU-bottlenecked situation; thus, if your CPU is not bottlenecked, I would expect that you not see a gain.

A suggestion regarding the latter: check for any gains in an autogen-dense area, preferably urban. Considering that both the building and vegetation autogen will start bottlenecking your system, I would really expect that if there was a gain from the Trees HD product (via more efficient textures and modeling), you'd see it there.

Just some thoughts. And no, I haven't bought it yet as I'm on the fence...

I don't get it Chas.

If your fixed at 33 you are going to get 33, trees or no trees.

I think it looked very nice. Is HDR enabled in this pictures, or your pics in general?

Very bold statement...not sure about that one.

Agreed. Does it mean we can max the autogen slider now with no VAS hit?
