I'm happy to report it has worked very nicely. The stutters I was getting when panning the view with TIR have been eliminated entirely! Now

What about traffic?

As I only run MY6 @5% I feel no need to do anything, I don't even run Traffic manager anymore. but.....

 

If your running 10-20-30% with traffic manager, I would but traffic manager on the none P3D cores. Because like Rob reported, you can get stutters when it's culling unwanted AI.

 

 

What is the consensus now of HT on vs off on 4 cores?  Is it better to have max clock speed with HT off, or closer to stock with HT on?

Am happy for Steve to correct me if am wrong, but I think he has shown that with no HT its best to leave P3D alone with no AM.

Quite. With 212 the LPs 6 and 7 contain jobs that demand maximum throughput. So if they are on the same core together they compete for that bandwidth. Whereas, with 116, LPs 4 and 5 don't compete, since when 5 demands maximum throughput together with 6 they are on separate cores. The job on LP 4 won't be competing with the job on 5 anything like the way 5 and 6 would compete.

Yes, I added the AM 116 and used your .bat file to start ASN on the other cores. FPS limited to 40 in NVI with 2x supersampling and set unlimited in P3D. Never been so smooth. Still smoother without the 2x supersampling but I can live with that. Big thanks Steve

Managed to tweak some settings and am getting slightly better performance even in high density areas.

 

Would it be at all beneficial to upgrade from a 4770k to a 6700k in P3D3? I know from almost every other standpoint (gaming or photo/video work) its quite pointless but there doesn't seem to be much info on how much of difference it makes in P3D. And with the hardware comparison guide gone I'm in a bit of a dilemma.

 

The upgrade would cost me about 300-400 USD if I settle for 2600mhz  DDR4 or lower rams and if it doesn't make a difference performance wise in P3D I feel it would be wasteful.

 

Any input would be appreciated.

P3d is on 2,4,5,6

 

Am 116 sofar so good

 

Apart from core 3 the bar is a little high the rest of the cores are low and even

 

Is that normal?

 

Now with the rest of the processes do I set them off the cores p3d is running on?

I have my CPU OC'd to 4.6GHz with HT on AM=116 and I have activated DSR Factor @ 2.00 x Resolution 33% smoothing in the nVidia Control Panel, screen resolution is set to 3840x2160 @59Hz and the display is exceptional.

but at my airport departure, i had a problem with texture loading time, about 1min to load correctly jetway, traffic texture and animated people from gsx

I have 2 questions,

 

 

1) If my HT is off, do I need AM

2) I did the invoke the Task manager and found all 4 cores to be ticked. What can I do from there or should I just leave the 4 cores ticked?

 

Would appreciate if you could give some suggestions on how to improve on my settings.

Think this was asked before. With HT OFF, you don't need a AM.

Just want to say thank you to David M. and Steve W....

 

I have been using Steve's recommended AM 116 along with Process Lasso settings David suggested for the entire day and I'm noticing smoother performance.  I've got a 6700K that was OC'd to 4.8Ghz with HT OFF and was noticing very minute stutters usually in turns in very dense areas (orbx global/Los Angeles/FSDT KLAX/ASN,default traffic, etc), I could maintain ~30FPS but stutters were bothering me even though they were very slight.  I had to lower to 4.6Ghz OC with HT ON to get CPU stable, but am getting much smoother performance (ex. orbx NCA/FB KFSO @4096 textures /ASN/default traffic).  I didn't even see one stutter taking off from KFSO HD and flying around the SF area.

 

I think this is great, thanks again for taking the time to research and make suggest based upon your findings, every bit of performance counts.  I appreciate all that you do for us!

Core 3 green bar ,is high is this normal running asn?

 

This may be a stupid question sorry, but would all the processes be moved from running on cores 2456?

So been following this thread a bit, I have 4790k @ 4.7ghz with HT off, no AM. Also Sli 2x gtx970.I'm using simstarter to run p3d , with opusfsi just used for butt kicker & trackir (trackir can be run with high priority in settings of opus). & vpilot traffic proxy on my main pc. My question is could I benefit from using process lasso for anything on my main fs pc to help performance , I am quite happy as is but just curious ?
