I'm fairly certain it's dominated by hobbyists like us, too. Still, it probably doesn't mean that Lockheed will go to the trouble of changing its licence agreement and market P3D any differently. 

 

I believe they would love to change the license but its Microsoft that control that.

I do blame developers. For me (i need to underline:for me) this is greed.

When developers make simulations with this kind of quality, they have a right to be "greedy" with it.

FSL has already indicated somewhere, that they will be prepared to convert it to 64 bit.

From what I've read on the FSL forum, VAS is an issue in P3D.

 

So a $186 CDN for it to OOM on take off or on approach...  money well worth spent!

The funny part of this thread is besides going around in circles is that its going to all happen again same posts same remarks everything when the pmdg747v2 is released

trapped by my honnesty about country i live in; just payed over 170 euros and i cannot use it !!  i have to switch off 2 other addons and lower settings or goes CTD ! They developped it when soloing with this stuff, they have to mention: not to be used with other complex addons, if so then you need + 2000 dollar PC first !  Unsatisfied, just deleted, lost 170 euros...

You're in Europe, so you can request a refund through your bank or paypal. According to the 2015 Consumer Rights Act, you have a right to a refund of a digital product if it isn't 1)of satisfactory quality 2)fit for a particular purpose or 3)as described by the seller. A strong argument can be made for the first 2, especially when comparing it with other addons of similar detail.

And the fact of the massive oom issue. I do kind of feel sorry for Andrew and his team, to spend years making a good product only to be snookered by fsx/p3d oom issues which we all know are the result of crap coding that no-one can do anything about.

When will people understand the age of your pc or how expensive it is has zero, absolutely zero to do with vas usage. It's been said a million times. But you still dont understand it. Fsx was designed as a game to sell to the masses to fly around in a cessana and barn storm for 20 mins then turn off and shoot people on Cod. it wasn't designed as a full motion type sim with all the bells and whistles.

saying that first flight and I get a CTD going from windowed to full screen after an hour flying.... ill wait for them to  do stanard policy pmdg blaming .NET or ACES or my p3de installation  same old ######

Lets just hope p3d 64 bit is around the corner and the conversion process is relatively simple with free or minor upgrade fee. Its that or really really hope DTGFS works well with it somehow.  Cant wait until we can put this crazy VAS limitation to bed for good!

But the T7 by the dev with the 4 big letters comes at almost the same cost? And you even have to pay the full price if you do own the FSX version!? Put the 300ER expansion on top, and you are even passing the 150,- EUR mark + VAT! What do you think will be the price for the P3D version of their upcoming QOTS II B744?

But the quality of this addon is breathtaking!

This (Airbus) systems simulation is what all nerds dreamed of for such a long time. We've never been even close to this level with any of the releases, claiming to be Airbus simulations, before. And I had them all!

There are even people, who think that this might be THE most complex tubeliner sim for any sim platform...

I had no OOMs with the FSX version, and I am really looking forward to giving the P3D version more flight time today, out of and into complex sceneries.

I am willing to turn down a few settings (I did so in FSX as well, and it flies very beautifully in there), but we'll see. On a short test pattern around EDDK yesterday, free VAS was around 1200 at takeoff and 800 by the time of touchdown. That's with Aerosoft scenery, FTX Global, Vector, Open LC EU, FTX Trees HD, As16 & ASCA.

FPS were really fluid!
