March 8, 20188 yr I've become addicted to adding airplanes to my simulator and I can't stop. I have startup situation for each one and a startup icon for each on the desktop(s). I'm on my second desktop now. Thank you fences for making that easy. I have to modify the panel in each so the same keys and/or Saitek switches and buttons operate the same panel pop-ups on each aircraft. I wish they would standardize those controls. I'm up to 154 planes now in 6 categories; General Aviation - Commercial Aviation - Military Aviation - Bush Planes - Roswell Museum Propliners and Early Jets - Roswell Museum Warbirds. I'm spending way too much time on this but I can't stop. So many airplanes, so little time. Noel The tires are worn. The shocks are shot. The steering is wobbly. But the engine still runs fine.
March 8, 20188 yr Oh how I know what you mean Noel! I have been building my resent conversion to P3DV4 and man have I been spending wampum. I have repurchasing my main study Sims and I just can't resist some of those beautiful 64 bit airports recently released. This hobby is an addiction but I guess there are much worse things to be addicted to. Someone said"if you don't enjoy it your heirs will".😉 Vic green

March 9, 20188 yr I can emphasize Noel. I've 309 airplanes of all types in the hangar and I don't think I'll live long enough to fly them all.........Doug Intel 10700K @ 5.1Ghz, Asus Hero Maximus motherboard, Noctua NH-U12A cooler, Corsair Vengeance Pro 32GB 3200 MHz RAM, RTX 2060 Super GPU, Cooler Master HAF 932 Tower, Thermaltake 1000W Toughpower PSU, Windows 10 Professional 64-Bit, 100TB of disk storage. March 9, 20188 yr Noel, please stop. I am worried that in the future you'll be checking in via wifi from your local Mcdonald's after scarfing down your daily meal of french-fries! \Robert Hamlich/
March 9, 20188 yr One of the hardest things about moving to P3D was leaving a whole bunch of airplanes behind in FSX. I still have FSX on the computer, but haven't run a full flight in it for probably going on 2 years now. But the pain of knowing that a KMEM to KFAT run in the PMDG MD-11F is strictly a memory keeps me from uninstalling it... Now scenery...that's a different story altogether. March 9, 20188 yr Author McDonalds? Ugghhh. I like GOOD food, especially when I make it myself. I love cooking as much as I like flight simming. And when I do the cooking and clean up the kitchen after myself my wife doesn't say a word about the time I spend simming. Rare roast beef, a twice baked potato oozing with butter, and steamed green beans with mushrooms and bacon is as delightful as a perfect landing. And no, I'm not looking to give up either one. Did I mention I'm comfortably overweight? Noel The tires are worn. The shocks are shot. The steering is wobbly. But the engine still runs fine.
March 9, 20188 yr Well, it seems that you only use one simulator. I have this syndrome for, at least, three... March 9, 20188 yr I do the same thing. I see a new aircraft that looks interesting and I download it. I may install it, or it may go onto my storage drive. I may fly it a time or two, or it may just sit on the ramp and look pretty. The sad thing is, this habit sometimes involves payware. March 9, 20188 yr I make sure I can afford the plane in some sort of virtual economy as well like Air Hauler or FSEconomy before I can purchase. It somewhat helps.
March 9, 20188 yr Yes, a real addiction for me too, like trying all types of aircrafts but in least... a little unhappy because there are few aircrafts that I'm knowing really in deep... Hooply for all categories, I impose me only one aircraft to follow in deep as the majestic q400, Airbus 320, CRJ, beech king air, PMDG DC6, centurion, etc... Avsim and fselite are good sources of informations to make, after mine first trying... a good selection. This addiction is good for the market of course ;-) not for mine money...
March 9, 20188 yr Author I don't have a lot of payware aircraft. No payware airliners. 90% of my flying is with the Lionheart Quest Kodiak since I prefer the GA flying I did in real life to airliners and all the complexities that go with them. But I want OWN the other airplanes. I have no good reason why except I'm a collector. I know I will never fly most of them...but you never know when the fancy might strike you. Besides I just enjoy installing them. But most importantly he who dies with the most airplanes wins. Noel The tires are worn. The shocks are shot. The steering is wobbly. But the engine still runs fine.
March 9, 20188 yr Hello. My name is Stephen and I am a flight simmer. I have not downloaded another airplane since this morning.
