June 30, 20196 yr Can someone who has FSDT KSDF airport test it out at night and tell me if the runway and taxiways are all lit up at night. It seems to be effecting most of the FSDT stuff. Here is KCLT after installing the Orbx HD. KCLT Disregard. It was Envtex causing the issue. If you have Airports selected in Envtex it will cause strange issues with some of the FSDT airports. For now I turned off Airport and all is working great again. And someone reported slower AG loading. I am definitely interested but am waiting for some comparisons regarding fps.. And are some buildings used in the , already heavy , True Earth series ? R&D has several resolutions to choose from. Does Orbx have this too ? June 30, 20196 yr No, Gsalden, i did not see any choose about resolution for the BuildingHD. I bought it, installed it and tried it. I was enthusiast but i had a drop of my performances and my sim was freezing for a lil 1/4second every 30 or 40 secs and this was very annoying. So I removed BuildingHD and reinstalled R&D and all came back to something more smooth. BuildingHD is nice but the time I sacrificed my performances when flying for "a little more pretty" is over. And after all, it's buildings and I fly mostly very high, excepted when landing or taking off (and R&D is also pretty). Like someone said in another topic "simple is also beautiful" 🙂 Intel i9 - GPU RTX 3080 - 32 gig RAM HyperX Fury DDR 4
June 30, 20196 yr in case anyone is wondering whats actually going to be replaced by Buildings HD (from the manual) Quote Buildings HD will upgrade your autogen buildings in: • Default FSX/P3D • Orbx Global and the Global range of products (Vector, OpenLC, etc.) • The Following Orbx Regions: o North America: Pacific Northwest, Central Rocky Mountains, Northern Rocky Mountains, Pacific Fjords, Southeast Alaska, Northern California, Southern California o Australia V1 and V2 o New Zealand North and South o Europe: Norway, England, Wales, Scotland, Ireland, Northern Ireland • Orbx Airports: Houses and small buildings in the surrounding area are usually autogen, and thus will see an upgrade. • Any third-party sceneries that use default autogen buildings. Which products will not be upgraded by Buildings HD? • Orbx TrueEarth Regions: TrueEarth regions make heavy use of custom buildings, which are not upgraded by Buildings HD. • Orbx Germany North and Germany South Regions: These regions use custom autogen textures carefully made by Frank Schnibben and it was decided during development that they would not be replaced by Buildings HD. • Orbx CityScapes: Our cityscape products primarily use custom buildings, which are not modified by Buildings HD. However, some smaller buildings and houses may be improved. • Drzewiecki Design Cities and Other Similar City Addons: These CityScape – style addons from other vendors consist mostly of custom-building objects, which are not modified by Buildings HD. However, some smaller buildings and houses may be improved. Edited June 30, 20196 yr by Woozie
June 30, 20196 yr Thanks for the info. I could rename the main Texture folder to something else and add an empty Texture folder where Orbx will install the te textures. I then can resuze them to 1024 and use them afterwards .. 5950x3d 5.4-5.7 GHz - Asus ROG 870 Crosshair Apex - GSkill Neo 2x 24 Gb 6000 mhz / cas 26 - MSI RTX 5090 Gaming Trio OC - 1x SSD M2 6000 2TB - 1x SSD M2 2800/1800 1Tb - Corsair 5400 case - Corsair 360 liquid cooling set - 3x 75’ TCL tv. 13600 6 cores @ 5.1 GHz / 8 cores @ 4.0 GHz (hypterthreading on) - Asus ROG Strix Gaming D - GSkill Trident 4x Gb 3200 MHz cas 15 - Asus TUF RTX 4080 16 Gb - 1x SSD M2 2800/1800 2TB - 2x Sata 600 SSD 500 Mb - Corsair D4000 Airflow case - NXT Krajen Z63 AIO liquide cooling - FOV : 200 degrees My flightsim vids : https://www.youtube.com/user/fswidesim/videos?shelf_id=0&sort=dd&view=0
June 30, 20196 yr Commercial Member I came to the conclusion that the optimal resolution is 2K. With 4K, drawing black textures of objects is a bit worse. I use Rob's settings: ENABLE_MEMORY_OPTIMIZATION=0 MAX_TEXTURE_REQUEST_DISTANCE=320000.000000 SCENERY_DRAW_DISTANCE=53333.335938 Edited June 30, 20196 yr by BMW969 In jurisprudence, there is a principle - you look for the person who benefits.

I have purchased both RD and ORBX presets. 4K has a serious impact on frames when Autogen Building Density is at Very High and Texture Resolution Ultra- 4096x 4096, no matter the product. (average 20% loss) 2K is smooth on my rig though and I hope ORBX will add the option to choose resolution because their new textures are just awesome.
