No really, PMDG is having a sale!

Robert Randazzo just announced that with the opening of their new store, and since it’s their 22nd birthday, they’re having a once in a lifetime sale!  Guess they want to stress test their new servers.

And I think I’m going to be adding a 777 to my fleet.  😎

I can't even reach PMDG's site right now, for some reason.  Something about NET::ERR_CERT_COMMON_NAME_INVALID

https://www.precisionmanuals.com isn't working for me either, but https://pmdg.com is.  (?)

Same here...
Kinda fishy... Especially because PMDG almost never has a sale.
And 22% for their 22nd birthday?!? What's that for a weird reason.
I would be very cautious and only buy through the official url

pmdg.com is their new official site according to Rob. And the sale is legit, it’s been posted on their forums.

No, nothing fishy there, Randazzo did post about it in their forums, located at the usual URL.

Hmmm. The new website is asking me to change my password. Then i click the link in my email, and then it says the link is invalid. Weird.....

April 1st ? No, August 8th 😀 !

Is the key figure 22 (like in 22nd birthday) or is it 20 (like in FS20) ?. My intuition is that the MS announcement has here a first visible effect on the market. Do they try to revigorate declining sales (pessimistic view) or need more cash to adapt their products (optimistic view) ? Or both...

if I am right, the Labor day then the Black Friday sales might be interesting to follow.

Sure. And God didn't make the little green apples and it don't rain in Indianapolis in the summer time.

B.O.R.I.N.G. now where's my MD-11F for P3D 🙂

BTW %22 doesn't even cover the exchange rate 1 US Dollar = 1.3202 Canadian Dollars on 8/2/2019. It would still be $132 Cdn for the 747 😞

Instead of a conspiracy theory on PMDG Sales / FS2020, how about PMDG is simply celebrating the last step in the big move to the new service, forums, site, etc. They have been working this for some time and a nice gesture to the community was having a sale to celebrate a major milestone for the company.

Birthday or not, they didn't have to do this.

Say "Thank You."

Your complaining about the exchange rate which is PMDG's problem how? I bet if they released a MD-11 at the going 777/747 pricing you wound't complain about the US/CDN exchange rate. For others the 22% is a considerable discount.

FS2020 stands for Fire Sale 2020. I just don't think that it's a coincidence that lots of them are having a sales before MSFS, potential clients like myself are in a waiting position to see what's supported or not so hence the sales.

Of course I'm not complaining bout PMDG it's worth it without the sale, I blame the exchange rate is the punishing for me, from my view it's like a tariff where I have to pay an extra 32% to get the same product.

Unfortunately we don't have a crystal ball that will tell us what the future brings. There is no telling if current products can simply be converted via the SDK or if they will require a total rebuild. I rather enjoy today than guess what tomorrow might or might not bring. The sales just make it easier for me to enjoy the product today. Either way we know it will take some time to bring 3rd party addons up to current levels. Look how long it took developers to bring addons up to 64bit when v4 came out. We're still missing a lot of addons that are still 32bit.
