I don't really care what there doing, but if that apply to others....on topic PMDG NG3, then I will not buy it, only to be asked to buy again for MSFS 2020 at full price. I remember only to well how when P3D came out the work to make the NG work in P3D at that time was/would have been small but no they charged us $100 plus and said O yer well we are putting the price up as well so better get it soon! PMDG have a long history dated back to the NG coming soon video and it "coming" one and a half years later. Nothing I every read from Robert I take at face value, its taken with a huge pinch of salt, more like a shovel load.

I'm sure the new NG will be great but if....and I say "if" the shelf life is going to be small, i will keep to the old NG and see what MSFS. I am also very happy with DCS. Makes P3D look and feel very old and shallow. I don't even see myself doing a P3d Flight till the new year. When i will update to W10 and totally re-install 4.5 HF xxx.

I agree with that - for any new release, by anybody, that turns up in MSFS, there has to be a path forward that doesn't involve a new, full-price purchase.  Had enough of that already.

Assuming that a developer does have MSFS plans, then it'd make good business sense to describe the upgrade path, at least in broad terms, when the P3D product comes out.  Seems to me that more people would be willing to buy if they had a sense of what to expect in, say, late 2020.

I also have to say... while I recognize the Aerosoft-bashing that goes on around here (and sometimes agree with it, more often not)... I do appreciate their upgrade policy.  "You only pay for new code" seems eminently fair - much more so than what many of their competitors have so far chosen to do.

Hoping there's a reasonable way forward.

Meh.  If PMDG made a large bizjet I'd buy that....  I had their original NG for FSX...great plane for the times.  I can't pay that P3D "upgrade" price though... 

Some time ago I watched a video clip of a newly marketed plane taking off in X plane 11. I think it was a C152 or similar, (cannot remember the designer) - but what struck me, even as I was just watching this video, was that you could see that its' performance and response would be close to expected as in a real flight as I have experienced in my time in the air. (PPL here). I felt it was an immersive experience. 

I will happily buy MS2020 if it can match or better that sensation or feeling. It's the sense of  weight,, power and air currents wave that I am looking for. If PMDG can delivery an NG3 that feels close to as real as it gets I will be very pleased

Agreed! But to be fair, consider their last product, the QotSv2, which included every 747-400 variant released as well as hundreds of airline options. I think you cna safely assume that for the one price the NG3 will likely include all options for the types included. Whether it will be the full 600-900 range, though - I don't anticipate that. I'd presume it'd be split up into two packages again. The Max, if they will indeed release it, will probably be an expansion similar to the 747-8. Of course, this is all going by their last release, the 747.

Probably will but I bet the MAX is the addon to it and more $$$

I wonder if the MAX version will come on release as the first "slip" of there next aircraft from them was "MAX".

My bet is it will be a paid addon.

******* because you have no sdk doesnt mean noone has. You can bet that some of the biggest name are in Full addon developement for months now. Public sdk for smaller devs is a complete different thing.
