Have you tried playing with PMDG's HDR adjustment option? I prefer it to be off.

Indeed, that makes a difference - Thanks

As someone who still has the NGX I’m not exactly rushing to get my credit card out to spend 80GBP on the NGXu. Are cockpit dimensions really the best thing about it? Not the EFB or the 4K VC or even the improved flight model.

Where are the salesmen amongst you? 😉

The sound package compared to NGX is miles better.

The handling is more "slippery" (have no better Words to describe it) than the NGX, and to me feels more like a plane than a train on rails. Similar sensation I had in a real 737 sim some years ago.

It is a vast inprovement over it's predecessor from 2011, which we should expect.

The best 737NG for P3D v5 😁

@SAS443, sorry but for 80GBP I’m going to need more than that. Keep them coming. I’m trying to keep an open mind but need persuading it’s worth shelling out for.

Indeed! Other enhancements that have made the purchase worthwhile for me (in addition to those mentioned already): the improved ground friction model, the new steering model, and, most important, the continued development. I just saw a post from Randazzo on how he fought to get the autobrake to behave better. I'm also looking forward to the promised LNAV improvement.

Having said that, I'm not a PMDG surrogate, and I'm not trying to sell this plane to anyone. If you don't see value in the new version, just don't buy it. I simply don't care whether you do or not. But for those who insist on running it down, do those considering purchasing it a favor and don't pass off your opinions as facts.

I was literally writing the same thing when you posted. Well said. If you want the best NG for P5D, here it is. Take it or leave it.

Sorry to disappoint you, I work for the government (civil aviation authority) so probably the farthest from a slick salesman you can be. 🤣

Dumb question, where can I find this?

That’s okay. The request was not directed at any one person. As a former civil servant myself our skills are very different from salesmen - snake oil or otherwise. 😉

Lol Ray, enjoy the NGX, for me I have had all versions since 2000 from PMDG and the NGXu is worth every euro to me personal 😉

Have fun in the virtual world gentlemen with whatever aircraft...

Ray, I think for any plane it's hard to put into words how it feels. Yes, the NGXu flies well and looks better in the cockpit. It has the EFB, which is surprisingly useful at airports, allowing you to stay in the virtual plane without having to resort to other programs.

It's one killer feature, though, is that runs in LM's current sim - P3D v5. Without wanting to derail the thread further with a v4 vs v5 war, v5 is Lockheed's ongoing focus for innovation so if you want to fly a 737 in the new sim, it's the only game in town.

80 GBP is a lot, but my dollars spent/hours of flight equation for the NGX was the best of any aircraft, and the NGXu is now shaping up that way as well (I replaced the NGX with in the v4 days also, so it's not just a v5 thing). The PMDGs are just beautiful simulated aircraft, and the 737 as a type is eminently usable so it's one that I find myself flying far more than the 747 and 777 in practice.

The real question that everyone has to ask themselves is.......am I satisfied with what I already have? It is not always a question of whether something else is better or not.

I think that's a fair question, Chris. You seem to generally be happy with the sim you have. I always want something better, which is what makes me an early adopter.

I guess those who still prefer 4.5hf3 could skip the update, couldn't they?

I saw it contained bug fixes so I installed it (using HF3).

Did one flight, did not encounter any issues so far
