BUT, from what I've seen so far, it does STILL appear to very CPU limited. Not seen any evidence yet that it can use more than 4 to 6 cores, although it does appear the load across then more evenly. The nature of the beast, I guess. Edited August 18, 20205 yr by Gabe777
August 18, 20205 yr Normally i had game mode disabled in w10 for P3d . Anyone who has experienced with it in MSFS ? Also with the new GPU acceleration ? Thanks Michael Moe Michael Moe
August 18, 20205 yr I have i7 9700K at stock speed, 32GB memory at 3200 mhz. MFS installed on a 1TB (with 500 GB free of space) Samsung Evo 970. Nvidia 1080ti watercooled. Resolution 4K on a 32 inch monitor. Rendering set to 80. Set to level High. But fps is breathing 30-40 in a non dense area such as ESMT. The GPU load is pumping 40-100% hence I see stutters while flying. Anyone knows why? Edited August 18, 20205 yr by casv
August 18, 20205 yr I currently have an i7-6700k at @4.4ghz. When using the dev tool to monitor fps I noticed I was dropping a lot of frames due to my cpu not keeping up with my rtx2080ti. I decided to upgrade, and a new motherboard, cooler and an i9-10900k is on its way. Andreas Stangenes http://www.youtube.com/user/krsans78 Add me on gamertag: Bullhorns78

August 18, 20205 yr I'm on holiday at the moment so will have to wait until later in the week to download it! But I'm impatient... has anyone run it on a 4770k and/or GTX1060 at 1080p and can report on performance? I suspect that is the reality of 4K gaming. Even at 80% it's stillI rendering at 1728p so it's still more than 3 times 1080p screenspace. Just trial the resolution at 1080p and see if makes a big difference in frames, if it doesn't there could be something else upsetting it. ckyliu, proud supporter of ViaIntercity.com. i5 12400F, 32GB, RTX4070, more in "About me" on my profile.
August 18, 20205 yr People have to realise that 4K won't be a thing in FS2020 for a while. It's not even a thing in X-Plane. Unless of course you either only fly in rural areas, or kill graphical fidelity. - Currently giving X-Plane 12.10 a spin on Shadow PC. 10 years with X-Plane now, since 10.20
August 18, 20205 yr Here's my take. I've been through this before: FS9 to FSX to P3D v4 XP9 to XP 10 to XP11 New sim which required new hardware that required 3rd party support only to tweak and chase FPS. This is and has become an even more expensive hobby. I don't know if I want to go through this ordeal again to end up in the same place. INSANITY! Edited August 18, 20205 yr by DJJose MSFS
August 18, 20205 yr Couldn't be happier here on an older (3-5 years) PC setup. GTX1070, i7 running at about 4Ghz and 32GB RAM). Settings are all set to HIGH and running on a 1920x1200 display. Smooth as glass. Not a single hesitation (other than one long pause for some unknown reason) no matter what weather I through at it. What an achievement! I'll keep X-Plane on my PC, for now, but I don't see going back to it for a WHILE. I did have a number of things I posted in another thread that will give me trouble in that regard (sensitivities, lack of being able to set limits and dead zones, etc), but I'm hoping those will be fixed quickly or have solutions already. We'll see. i7 8700K @4Ghz, EVGA RTX3080 Ultra, 32GB RAM, Two 2K displays. Alpha Yoke, Bravo Throttle Quadrant, CH Pedals.

You seem to be getting really angry. But I also saw you're trying to run this with a I7 2600k. Why are you so angry?

August 18, 20205 yr To those having fps issues, try disabling Vsync in the sim . In the TBM, my framerate increased from 20 to 60. I didnt have the problem in the DR400 so it could be glass cockpit related. August 18, 20205 yr I have hyper threading turned on. (9900Ks). I have found that by enabling threaded optimisation in the Nvidia control panel (turned from auto to on), it has eliminated 90% of the stutters.
