October 27, 20205 yr My guess is some of those positions have already been filled, but are still listed on the website. If the older ones are still open, they really should be reaching out to the community. I'm sure lots of people would be interested, and I bet a lot of people are looking right now. MSFS Premium Deluxe Edition; Windows 11 Pro, I9-9900k; Asus Maximus XI Hero; Asus TUF RTX3080TI; 32GB G.Skill Ripjaw DDR4 3600; 2X Samsung 1TB 970EVO; NZXT Kraken X63; Seasonic Prime PX-1000, LG 48" C1 Series OLED, Honeycomb Yoke & TQ, CH Rudder Pedals, Logitech G13 Gamepad
October 27, 20205 yr I found MSFS had a harder to fly than FSX, so I don't know how they 'dumbed' it down. Edited October 27, 20205 yr by Tuskin38

October 27, 20205 yr I am working for the Big 5 doing SAP. I've done C, C++, RDBMS etc thought I'd apply for the position of "Data Manager". Even if I have to take a pay cut. I thought But I read the requirement and didn't quite fit in! LOL 🙂 You are comfortable working in a French and multicultural environment" Does that mean, I need to speak French or just understand someone speaking English with a French accent? 🙂 Edited October 27, 20205 yr by Manny Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter

In reality, we here likely have little to no power to actually influence what Microsoft or Asobo do with their money and resources, over and above whatever they themselves decide meets their own internal goals and ambitions. Most especially when making statements along the lines of the above, which I believe is a bit divorced from the reality of them actually having no need (over and above marketing nice-nice) to make any sort of "excuses" to a tiny niche of a niche of the potential market for their product.... Though I'm sure many will disagree, I kind of see us individually as perpetually being beggars trying very hard (and loudly) to be choosers. When in fact, I suspect the whole flightsim community is pretty much just another type of useful Youtube "influencer", to them! 😀 EDIT: Plus a great pool of knowledgeable free beta-testers. Heck, seems we will possibly even end up fixing many problematic portions of the game for them for free, as well! Edited October 27, 20205 yr by HiFlyer We are all connected..... Who cares if a "casual" wants to buzz the space needle? Let him. Doesn't impact my flights in any way whatsoever. Precisely.
October 27, 20205 yr I'm afraid I've to get back to some of the comments about gamers vs simmers and which of the two population is critical to FS2020 cash flow, but I can't help reminding many 3rd party "simmer" DLC should just be available on the FS2020 Market Place and every purchase there is supposed to also gives a "significant" cut to Asobo and/or Microsoft. I'm not sure anyone can weigh which is the most important one regarding revenue stream between the number of "gamers" purchasing the next Asobo $15 DLC and the number of "simmers" purchasing the next 3rd party $150+ DLC, not only because we don't and probably won't know the different populations if ever you can make such distinctions, but also because I'm certain some of the "gamer oriented" DLC will certainly attract anyone regardless if being traditionally attributed the genre "gamer" or "simmer". In addition you don't know if in the end massive XBox players will sustain the franchise through DLC purchases in the long run or will just won't invest much because they find this "game" boring with no specific purpose for them. PS: these are fictional prices and it is not a forward looking statement or insider information of any sort. Having said this, I'm glad @Manny is steering back the discussion to the topic (i.e. jobs listing at Asobo) and yes Manny, this means il faut aussi parler français ! October 27, 20205 yr Only AVSim could look at the developers of their sim hiring more people to work on that sim as being a troubling sign, lol.

Because I spent roughly half of my childhood living in Tehran, Iran the "multicultural environment" box is certainly checked. Also, because of my attendance at Leysin American School in Leysin, Switzerland, I became fluent in French, German and Italian, in addition to Farsi, in which I'd already been fluent and brought with me. Alas, over the last sixty odd years my fluency in any of them has degraded to practically non-existence. I retain just enough to manage getting my face slapped by lovely young ladies should I be silly enough to attempt engaging them in any of the aforementioned languages! Fr.
