There are 2 versions at least.

The 2nd one is a beta SDK with limited access to max 300 Devs (lots of DLC devs.....airports and scenery)

Which version are you referring to? The one that came with the 1.16.x beta for Sim Update 4?

// 5800X3D // RTX 3090 // 64GB RAM // HP REVERB G2 //

Looks like 737 pilots will have to wait a bit before having to buy the plane yet again.

Zibo is far more advanced in all respects. By far.

Can’t wait to start cloudsurfing in the Pmdg 737 😎

If hope it is going to be just as good as the NGX coming from FS2004, we need something like that after the Bredok and Captainsim…….

The Zibo is superb. And it's free. But the whole experience is ruined when you look out of the window.

Not to shift topics, but I don't own either product, so I'm genuinely curious if you are you saying the Zibo is more feature complete and accurate than the PMDG?

And if so, does Zibo plan to work on anything in MSFS?

Take-offs are optional, landings are mandatory.
The only time you have too much fuel is when you're on fire.
To make a small fortune in aviation you must start with a large fortune.

There's nothing less important than the runway behind you and the altitude above you.
It's better to be on the ground wishing you were in the air, than in the air wishing you were on the ground.

it is not more advanced than a PMDG product by far. It is free though and it's good but it's not PMDG.

Pmdg are known to have deep FMC simulation, but Zibo is very close by now and far exceeds in terms of visuals, sounds, cockpit immersion, flight dynamics, tablet features, community addons, utilities, liveries and just being fun to fly.  The main issue by now is not Zibo but the world environment (X Plane issue).

I am glad Asobo is actively experimenting with our simulator. T

I would disagree here 😉. As a user I expect, nay I want,  stability in the product, the perpetual updates process initiated by the P3D team and that Asobo has accelerated to a greater degree, is a pain in the behind.

Let me be unpopular, the FSX big freeze had an enormous advantage. It helped a nascent cottage industry to grow. It brought us the products we enjoy now, from PMDG, A2A and other first tier developers. They had time to think about the architecture, find solutions, develop sophisticated products.

A game is not a mission-critical piece of kit indeed, but it accomplishes its purpose when the user feels comfortable playing it and does not worry about  the next update.

MFS looks to me too much as an engineer toy and not a product.  I am sure that the ASobo's people have a ball tweaking here and there at their heart content... and leaving bugs at the end of the day.

I am glad to see PMDG releasing the 6 as that may signal the beginning of a period of greater stability.  I can dream, can't I.

Not that much.

The MFS haters have predicted since early on in June 2019, that MFS was just a console game and that we wouldn't see any serious addon developed for it, as we did for P3D and XP, sceneries and a fortiori high end aircraft. All they said has been contradicted by a boom of releases at a rate and timing never seen before and the PMDG announcement of a release 10 months after the MFS release is the cherry on the cake.

I'm far more inclined to trust RSR than Asobo based on my history with both...I think the big unknown is whether or not Asobo will (or can) keep the functionality PMDG depends upon stable over time--e.g. to not bork the add-on with future MSFS updates.  Much of my dissatisfaction with MSFS is directly linked to the effects of their frequent and forced bugged updates.  Win10 keeps me in a near-constant state of seething anger for the same reason.

If you are in anger over updates for windows or msfs, then maybe it's time to hang it up. I'm pretty sure you're not the only one who has to do updates, but it seems like you're the only one who's so concerned about it that it makes you angry. That's definitely not healthy. Don't know how old you are but from the resume you posted a couple pages back I'm sure you're no spring chicken. It might do you some good if you relax more.

I think Kevin is very close spot on with this post.

I don't see a PMDG 737 this year in MSFS.

There are 2 things important for PMDG 1} doable technically spoken (SDK and Willingness MS Asobo) AND 2} profit. Means decent SDK and toolkit is needed....otherwise less or even no profit possible.

If one of those 2 elements  doesn't match....they won't deliver the 737.

Ask yourself why the DC6 is done prior 737 all though the market would rather buy the 737 much more than DC6.

 Marcus

Did you actually watch the pmdg intro video where rsr specifically said that the 737 was supposed to come out first but the sdk didn't have what they needed do they stopped working on it and moved all the devs to the dc6 🤦🏿‍♂️

I don't have too....as I'm seeing this happening without watching his video (assuming you mean there is a video).

So no...haven't watched it ...but it changes nothing for me but only confirms what I am seeing, reading and hearing from various and very different devs.

Thanks for the heads up.

Well maybe you should watched the video and hear the man speak for yourself. Don't know what it confirms for you, but it explains why they are releasing the dc6 first. Don't know what all this conspiracy theories are about.

DCS has a good approach for this with their stable and beta channels. It seems that Asobo is adopting this strategy as well.
