Really hope they bring the 777 next!

I am looking forward to more planes as well.

Some of it just because we all have different priorities. I like MSFS a lot, and overall the best still, but I am not ready to throw away Xplane. I threw away P3D a long time ago. I understand the better payware planes in P3D, I miss them too, but Xplane + MSFS is already almost too much for me, but dealing with 3 Sims is too much work.

As far as the graphics go, people have to remember we are all on different setups. I am playing on a 120" screen, and I promise you the mountains do not always look "ok" on this screen, the aerial imagery is way too low res at times. Yes, it looks better on my monitor, but I lose the immersion.

Depends on the price too though, lol, and how good it is. We shall see, but yes having something is better than NOTHING. At least it's an option for people I suppose. That said, I have a bad tendency of waking up in the middle of the night (almost in a sleepwalk like state), and hitting BUY BUY BUY BUY in the marketplace. Wake up next day and am like, dang 15 new airports. Did I really need all these.

Not sure who you were referring to, but I am not a naysayer, I just hope they fill in the gaps a bit more. The graphics are great (Except the mtns peaks sometimes), but there are some things that still drive me crazy in MSFS, some of the plane handling, landing, and what not.

I normally don’t engage in these sort of discussions but I have great respect for you and so I am wading in. The things being done behind the scenes are far above my pay grade, and intelligence. What I can tell you is that I enjoy FLYING this iteration, and she does NOT suffer WHATSOEVER in comparison to her previous incarnations.

HOW PMDG has worked its magic I don’t know. THAT PMDG has worked its magic- I can promise you.

What about taking Robert R at his word... PMDG has been working at this for 1.5 years, together with Asobo, and are now at a point where they think they can bring the DC6 to market.

Not the 737, btw, which they had planned to bring to market first.. because of problems with glass cockpits.. that all tells you something about where we are, I think 😉

I'm far more inclined to trust RSR than Asobo based on my history with both...I think the big unknown is whether or not Asobo will (or can) keep the functionality PMDG depends upon stable over time--e.g. to not bork the add-on with future MSFS updates.  Much of my dissatisfaction with MSFS is directly linked to the effects of their frequent and forced bugged updates.  Win10 keeps me in a near-constant state of seething anger for the same reason.

Yeah.  I tend to be a bit of an opinionated loudmouth at times, and have trouble suffering fools gladly, which is part of the reason Matt's the one who gets all the TV time.  😄  Well, that and that I definitely have a face for radio...

But fundamentally, we're just total flight sim geeks and, beyond that, we want to open our hobby up to as many people as possible.  That's why we're so passionate about the sort of democratization of development that's let, for example, such a vibrant freeware community as we have spring up in almost no time.

We obviously can't give everyone close dedicated attention.   And we don't want to become a "back-channel" for folks who couldn't get what they want from mom to go and try to get it from dad, instead.  We wouldn't have enough time to do what we're really getting paid to do if that became the case, and I know people don't want that.

But I think you'll find that, opinionated loudmouth or not, anyone at Working Title will happily listen to actual, honest, sincere, specific suggestions for things that could be done to improve the one thing we all care about.  We know it's far from perfect.  That's why we started doing what we do.

But we'll also keep pointing out that the emperors of "the SDK is garbage" truly have no clothes.  It's not perfect, it's a work in progress.  And for some -- as much as I hate the phrase -- it's a massive paradigm shift.  But if the people who spent so much time butting into irrelevant conversations to gripe about how broken the sim is actually put even half that time into trying, sincerely, to find a way to make it work for them...   I bet many would.

And we'd all be a lot happier.

I totally share your frustration with Microsoft's upgrade agenda, Win10 and MSFS both get updated with unpredictable side effects..  At least you can (temporarily) roll back a Win10 update.. not so much with MSFS..

I tend to agree with you. They set a price ( a high one because of quality ) and it has worked for years, it never goes on sale, or not often, and all PMDG customers know this. Didn't they even raise the price with P3D about some extra tax or something they had to pay cause it was a military company. Someone know the correct info here.

And never in a million, billion years, would I expect PMDG to go into a MarketPlace, EVER. However if they indeed get along for now, MS/Abobo and PMDG, I think they will negotiate a percentage split they both like. And will be special to companies like PMDG, Aerosoft, etc... and I am gonna say, they ARE going to be in the MarketPlace. Not at first, maybe even month's after a aircraft is released, and they WILL miss sales at the time but won't care at first.  But in the end with possible thousands and thousands or hundred's of thousands of sales in the MarketPlace, they will sell there.

I do not think the prices will be lowered. Even if they don't have that military P3D stuff to pay, people are used to the prices and will pay them! Just an opinion have no clue!

Depends if it relies on outside software or not. It's also up to Aerosoft to make an X-Box compatible version.

Not everything in the Marketplace will be on the X-Box, it's up to the addon developers to allow that.

MSFS on X-Box will have full keyboard and mouse support according to the SDK Q&A for a few weeks back.

Thrustmaster has a HOTAS for the X-Box One that also works on the Series X|S according to the product page.

Great news that PDMG is releasing the 737 NG sometime this year.  Once we get news of a legitimate AI traffic solution on par with UT I think this will be a good platform.  Right now all there is really is airport scenery and janky unfinished/inaccurate planes.
