REX Real Global airport textures

Featured Replies

REX skeptic myself but this might be worth it since it seems like every developer thinks these hand crafted airports that came with MSFS are suffice. the screenshots do looks pretty good I must say

Do Rex have any plans on offering a pack that upgrades the default airport building textures too? I’d be very interested in that. @rstough

Amazing, I think the default ones are nothing short of spectacular virtually everywhere on the planet.

That’s your opinion Noel of course, I don’t disagree that as default goes these textures are the best in any sim we’ve seen however, can they be better?.. I think the thriving freeware and payware airport market suggests people feel they can be.

I’ll take that as, watch this space 🙂

@Baber20thanks for the comparison shots. I think I'll stick with Zinertek's version.

Default LFMN is pretty darn impressive after the France update.

Asus Maximus X Hero Z370/ Windows 10
MSI Gaming X 1080Ti (2100 mhz OC Watercooled)
8700k (4.7ghz OC Watercooled)
32GB DDR4 3000 Ram
500GB SAMSUNG 860 EVO SERIES SSD M.2

I have to say I was a fan of REX's Airport Textures Direct in P3D, and think I'd like some more defined edges to default runways.  Does this do that, and keep the undulations? Are there any before/after videos  (I'm looking at you Alan @Chock)

😉

Although I'm interested in this, I'll hang fire for now until I make a more informed decision, but if I do buy it I think I'll buy it from Orbx.

After contact with @timest GAT downloaded very fast via the rexaxis support site. Installed fine, and will now try how it looks. I also had Zinertek installed before (removed it first now of course).

Just an example of REX customer support.  This for me, is so very much part of paying for any product, and sadly lacking for many simware and other products.

Some more comparison photos for anyone still on the fence. It can be hit or miss, and is definitely up to personal preference most likely. Album starts here:

I like how the first two look, but ewwww the coloration change to KBKL is IMO quite nasty. Overall tho I'd say 👍
