Well the screenshots look ok.

Glad to see that the draw distance is getting extended and the ATC altitude issue is getting fixed. Also glad to see the ability to increase the off screen terrain pre cache.

I guess ill keep toiling with the FBW a320 and fly in between flight levels (to keep atc happy) at night till this WU drops.

I agree with you there! I am very happy for these fixes, especially for the new terrain offscreen slider 😉

Glad to see this pushed back a bit to give the time needed for polish…never a bad decision!

It’s about time they implemented an “opt in” beta!  This should help them find bugs and get more feedback from the community before a patch goes live.

Also, I liked that they pushed back the update to September 7th.  We just want a stable update.

They've had loads of bugs reported and plenty of feedback from the community in previous alphas and betas going back to the original release.

Problem is getting Asobo to actually act on the reports and feedback.

Argh... really? They once intended a beta for Steam users exclusively, which was cancelled later. Thus it might be possible technically.

But who knows.. you might be right.

Kind regards, Michael

They have more control over who gets it and how its distributed etc. on store version I would assume

I wish they would release a another HF for the CTD some people are having, its another long wait for them. I could list a few what I hope would be simple fixs also could get a HF, airport history just one, of many. O well...

This sounds great.

WORLD

-“Offscreen terrain pre caching” graphics settings has been added (Low, Medium, High and Ultra). If set to Ultra, all the offscreen terrain will be cached at full quality which will reduce FPS drops and LOD popping when panning the camera but may impact overall performance
-Maximum photogrammetry draw distance has been further increased. As a result, photogrammetry of downtown building areas will be visible from farther away
-Cities at night are now more visible on the World map

The ATC altitude fail should have been a hotfix a long time ago. 7 weeks to get it addressed is criminal.

Good lists of improvements it seems for WU6. Looking forward to it and appreciate they have delayed it. Hopefully that decision translates to less new issues!

If I read the comments here, it will most likely take another year or two until there is positive attitude towards MSFS in the community again. good enough to read the topic headlines for a very long time…

This is strange. Instabilities were supposed to be simmers' fault.

I don't think that it was actually elucidated but yes many are and alot has to do with specific conditions like hardware, settings ecetera.  I would call it fleshing out the software.

The good news is that there is captured data that can be acted upon unlike in the past.
