I'm in again. The last beta was perfect and I had no problems. Looking forward to this release.

I’m in as well. Though my store version is on a dedicated drive last time it tried to reinstall from scratch. Easy to catch when the installer tells you about >100gb download you know something’s wrong and time to direct the installer to your previous MSFS folder. All good then. At least here

I just hope they actually try and fix things during the beta and/or release a timely Hotfix after SU8 Public release if New issues are found during the process.

Right at the very beginning of the announcement is this:

Our focus in this beta will be:

  • Checking stability and performance
  • Testing against the release notes to confirm accuracy
  • Providing an opportunity for 3rd party developers to test their products in a beta environment

It seems clear that any issues won't be fixed on the fly. On past form it's unlikely that only stuff that's game breaking would appear in a hotfix.,

Give people power to really test their personality.

Yep and that's the reason why I see possible problems within the beta period (God I hope not!), their beta method is far different from anything I've ever been involved with and not in a good way.

As usual the same excuses coming from the same individuals when its time for a beta or an update to drop it is getting old to read every thread. You don't want to join Beta than dont do it that simple that goes for me included.

Then, again, if PMDG were to announce:

PMDG ANNOUNCES PUBLIC BETA FOR THEIR UPCOMING 737 RELEASE. PLEASE NOTE: TO JOIN, SACRIFICE OF FIRST BORN REQUIRED!!!!!

...there'd be a stampede of avsimmers clamoring to join. Ha ha.

There's a Beeta for the British and a Bayta for the "Muricans.

Doesn't want more betas, a year and a half was not sufficient?. No, thanks, will have to update anyway, but when it becomes official!

Beta means very little in the Asobo sense. In the last SU beta they broke Track IR. It was reported widely. Yet the final release…. broke Track IR! It stayed broken for quite a while. So I really don’t know what the point of a beta is… other than to make you gamble on reinstalling the entire sim that is.🤣

I'm going to feel bad for PMDG or Fenix when their airliners "if" drop in MSFS at reasonable prices. Their customer service will be loaded for the first few months.

After my last experience unless the current version is screwed like the original SU7 was, I'll pass on being in anymore betas.  It was a learning experience as to how easy FS is to reinstall compared to our older sims.  To all the beta testers please put in a word for the 6pm weather outage bug and the constant connection disruptions we've been seeing since SU5.  Since this is a bug fix effort that should be at the top of the list.

Another honorable mention🧐 for me would be the 'Travel To' feature.  When you spawn to the a new point in the route the AP/AT is off among others is turned off (lights, Pitot heat, etc).  I know many look down on using this feature as it's not realistic but if it's offered it should work as advertised.  It saves time on long haul flights where in the real world you don't have time to sit at your computer for 7+ hours.

One more thing 🤪, the internal fan in the Longitude is off after a flight when you shut the engines down with no way to turn it back on.

Thanks to all that's participating in the next beta.👍

FS2020

Alienware Aurora R11 10th Gen Intel Core i7 10700F - Windows 11 Home 32GB Ram
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Super OC 16GB - Pimax Crystal Light VR

My guess is that this is more about allowing developers a bit of time to patch their products ready for 1st March to prevent an outcry if loads of stuff won't work or CTD's the sim after the update.
