A couple of people are saying the PMDG is crashing the sim on startup

I'd love to hear about how the improvements in VR are working in the sim.  Are there meaningful improvements or nothing really noticable.

I just had a quick test in the Fenix. Didn't takeoff yet so this should be taken with a grain of salt but DLSS looks very promising. I'm seeing nice display quality and performance improvement. Also the terrain doesn't look so over exposed anymore.

I'm seeing people report improved performance (without DLSS) on the beta forums. It's not happening to everyone.

Also I'm not sure why this needed its own thread, could have just posted about it in the existing SU10 threads.

Fenix with DX12

Carsten U

performance slightly better here with DLSS on, can set Rivatuner from 35 to 40 fps in the Fenix. Flying live weather exclusively it look pretty accurate to where I just tried a traffic pattern in the Fenix, but there were little to no clouds like IRL

I'm trying to justify it as it is beta.

Do testing, make threads on the official beta forums about the issues you find.

I'm sure that people that were GPU bottlenecked could see improvements.

I have 9900K @5ghz, RTX3080, 32Gb ram, all on nvme disk. High settings @14400 (only clouds on ultra)

Stutters never been worse also.

Start posting your problems the beta forum so Microsoft/Asobo can fix it: https://forums.flightsimulator.com/c/sim-update-10-beta/331

Absolutely no difference in clouds or cloud layers in Live Weather Mode in SU10.

Aerosol density is still 1 in Live Weather Mode everywhere you go, regardless of actual visibility.

Asobo really need to simulate visibility/aerosol changes in the atmosphere in Live Weather Mode. This data is available from the meteoblue model like any other variable (temperature, wind etc).

From Matt over at the official forum:

"

Cloud layer resolution (i.e. the resolution of the layer of clouds itself vertically and not the pixel count) has been hugely increased in the lower atmosphere. Where previously it was impossible to set sharp cloud layer transitions or thin layers near the ground for IFR training situations, it is now possible. You should be able to set sharp cloud layers in the lower atmosphere to get much better quality matching with RVR values if you are setting manual weather for training situations.

In addition, the sim will use this to its advantage when building the cloud layers in the lower atmosphere based on METAR and forecast data to better match visibility and cloud bottoms, which should result in overall better matching of breakout conditions during approaches.

However, in general flying, I don’t know that this effect will immediately pop out as obvious. So I would focus on the areas I mentioned during testing of the new cloud layers."

Yep. It just rotates through the usual suspects. TAA, DLAA, but no DLSS ever appears. I get the FSR scaling option.

Hmm.. I would try reinstalling Nvidia drivers and not doing any customizations. Just a standard driver install. See if that helps?

Please let Asobo know, I know I would appreciate it and I'm sure many others as well.

That's a very important feature of weather.

Wow !

Thats' quite a list of changes / updates / new features !!! Almost makes me want to enter this beta 🙂

Almost......

Still looking to see if there are any showstoppers and on top of that my installation is a littte unique.

MS store default install then i used the move install feature to a different drive so i don't really know what would happen at the end of the beta if the program would want to do a complete reinstall and I'm not keen on going through that process.

Travelrunner just stated he has the option? Or am i mistaken. In any case im not too concerned lucky for AMD users the xbox platform is entirely AMD spec so even if its not there right now it will have to be eventually.

Could be me, could be placebo but my ground textures appear sharper, clearer and much more natural now.

My performance is the same or just a bit better (2-3 fps)

So far, so good and the cloud layers are much better her at PDX today
