So, installed the new driver (studio one) and now all my cores are spread evenly again in DX12, and I’m  using 15GB VRAM, and it’s smooth! So all in all, result!

Hmm, so it looks like some people are seeing the FPS boost with DX 12 and the new NVidia Studio Driver, while others are not seeing it.

This is an odd one.

Help...

How do you enable DLSS? I did not see an option under the options menu.

You (or anyone else) does not need to leave the SU10 beta if you want to be included in the upcoming SU11 beta.

This is clear to me now. Thanks.

The method provided there is cumbersome.  Found out it just requires a simple registry edit:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\NVIDIA Corporation\Global\NGXCore,
just simply change the value of ShowDlssIndicator from 1024 to 0000.

I am guessing it started displaying on my system as I updated to the new nVidia Studio driver. (I am also a Photoshop and Lightroom user)

Huh? That's exactly what it tells you to do on that link. How is it cumbersome? You just change the "ShowDlssIndicator" value to 0.

For those SU10 beta user concerned or wondering about instaling SU10 final:

https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/beta-testers-new-information-on-joining-leaving-the-beta/543728

Essentially, all SU10 beta users had SU10 final pre-installed, and no further action is needed now.  But if you don't opt out of the MSFS beta program on Xbox Insider, you will be privy to SU11 beta updates when they become available.

I will be opting out of the beta.  All I wanted out of the SU10 beta was DLSS for VR (a big Yay), though I did vote on SU10 beta issues that I found.

Anyone else get a graphics card heat warning when trying to pop out the atc window in DX12?

HDR still needs the workaround, lol 🙂

Oh, which reminds me. A Windows HDR Calibration app was just released.

Thanks for the heads up. Calibration was quick and easy using that app and HDR is looking better now.

So to clarify, is the studio driver ok to use for dx12 purposes or should I wait for the game ready version?

The release notes for the studio driver mentions that it contains the DX12 fix for MSFS, but Asobo has not confirmed that the release version of SU10 will recognize it - although I have read several reports since the studio driver released yesterday (from SU10 beta users) that DX12 is performing much better with that driver installed.

If the idea behind the new driver and memory optimization is that DX12 will work like it did in "first" beta back in July then the FPS don't really improve but it's a lot smoother, and used more VRAM.  In fact, I remember testing it and DX12 gave slightly lower FPS than DX11 but the 1% and .01% lows were significantly better.  Like 2x or 3x orders of magnitude higher.  In VR you could have a dance party and not see a stutter even at 35 FPS and you could spin your mouse around without much or any stutter.  But FPS were relatively unchanged.

You got that wrong. You shouldn't opt out or you won't get any SU11 beta updates when they become available.

NOTE: The Xbox Insider beta groups on Windows PC/Xbox have already received the version of Sim Update 10 that will be released to the public (1.27.21.0). Opting out will only prevent you from automatically receiving future beta updates.

Well it's not really that fps is higher with DX12. But I think Ian is right. It's very smooth. Not seeing any multithread usage in HWinFO, although IIRC there's something with how thread usage is reported with 12th gen CPUs and hyperthreading.

Anyway, the performance is great, that's what matters 🙂

I got only one thread in use, reported by HWiNFO. Will try again to double-check.

On DX 12 still the same old core hammered. On new drivers

According to Matt Nischan (lead of Working Title), this release version of SU 10 is supposed to detect whether the NVidia driver you have is the version with the corrupted image DX 12 fix and if the driver has it, MSFS will enable the memory management optimization for DX 12:

Yeah, I didn't use it in the beta because small text was blurry and the transitions where blurred as well. For example, when spooling up the engines the N1 would rapidly increase and the numbers were basically just blurs until stable. I had zero performance gains with DLSS vs TAA and TAA was a much better image quality.

The blurriness is confirmed, but the colors and the general rendering seems better although lower fps in DX12.

Missing the PMDG DC6 in MSFS 2024 (she's here, but...).

haven't seen anyone mentioning the minor compatibility fix for the wonderful now working-again-title CJ4. all panels were white in SU10 beta, now no more manual adding of that panel.cfg necessary :

Working Title CJ4 v0.12.14

Welcome to the Working Title CJ4 v0.12.14. This version contains a compatibility fix for SimUpdate 10.
