I just got a Geforce Experience update, I believe the new Game ready driver will be available soon.

I might just stay on the studio driver. Unless there’s something specific for MSFS in the GRD.

For what reason then do you think?  I just think they do what they have to in whatever order they want.  It doesn't really matter much.
I have used studio drivers on and off for years and they are fine.  Nobody would notice any difference if they were installed on their system I would bet, even in MSFS.

There is a lot of BS talked about the studio drivers.  They may actually be better, and the 'bloat' thing is highly exaggerated.
I would advise anybody to install them without a worry.  They really are not a problem, and are working great for me in SU10.

My point was that, based on what I've seen and the description of the two channels, new versions are supposed to be released as Game Ready before Studio (or, sometimes, at the same time).  The whole point is new versions hit Game Ready first so that any unseen bugs caused by the new updates can be worked out before hitting Studio.  I was not making any commentary on the merits of either - I use Studio.  As far as I know, they are the same - the only difference is Studio doesn't get every version, just those that have apparent stability.  And you are correct - I don't know where this idea of "bloatware" in the drivers comes from.

As someone who doesn't update their drivers very often, just wondering what the latest thinking is on whether to DDU or not to DDU?

I have mixed feelings on this update. For example: clouds are definitely better (much less pixelation). But performance at big airports is not as good as hoped. Where is this game driver, maybe that would help.

It just dosen`t matter if you choose the ST Driver or the GR Driver ( for DX12 and DLSS and MSFS ) for this it is the same thing but i will wait for the GRD because i always install this one, so i go not for another Driver because i have to wait another 2 or 3 days.

Did two flights today, one with the Concorde and one with the updated Fenix A320 and this worked superb for me with my DX11 at DLSS 👍

So no need for me to hurry for an Driver that i normaly not use..

cheers 😉

I found my drivers in an old archeological dig, and it works flawlessly with DX11 with DLSS. Getting great performance!

But DX12 might be better when the drivers come out?

Not needed by all means. Only use IF you find an issue (blue screens for example). Nowadays you don’t need to clean an old driver (unless of course you are changing brands: AMD > Nvidia or Nvidia > AMD).

I just installed the Studio version using NV Clean Install. Nothing else there except the driver itself. Works a treat.

I only DDU when I have a problem.

ahem...that doesn't sound good. 😆

Let me rephrase that, I only use Display Driver Uninstaller if I run into a problem with the existing driver install (i.e. I have some problem in the sim that might be driver-related).

Right now I may have exactly that situation with the studio driver, as my MSFS is stuck at 30 fps, as if vsync is stuck at 30 (half refresh?) and changing settings doesn't help.  I have never encountered anything like this before with MSFS.  Maybe the studio driver has my vsync set to on at the driver-level, I'll have to check on that when I get home.

I understand what you are saying now, and I agree.  I don't know why they have done it this way around this time. Everyone was expecting a game ready driver for the bug fix, and releasing it in the studio driver has created some confusion for sure.

Has Asobo confirmed the 517.40 release are the drivers they have been waiting for?
