January 8, 20233 yr Or... Is there a noticeable boost going from 32 GB vs 64 GB? Or... Is it a waste?
January 8, 20233 yr It's one of those how long is a piece of string questions, but the general consensus is that 32gb is fine with little gain going higher many run with just 16gb and have no problems
January 8, 20233 yr I've been doing fine with 32GB since Alpha. More than enough, IMO... I also reverted to DX11, but used MFS in DX12 for quite a while. Flying gliders since 1980 Flightsimming since 1992 AMD Ryzen 5600x, 32GB RAM, GPU Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB, 1 TB and 500 GB nvme2 SSD drives, HP 27" 60Hz LED monitor @ 1920x1080, T16000, Hotas from old X52 Pro, Saitek Combat Rudder Pro (2010 model)
January 8, 20233 yr 32gb is fine, Asobo did an optimisation pass on the code a while back which helped 'lower' the initial excessive use of RAM. I run many apps alongside MSFS + VR (all world Updates, many mods etc) and these days it rarely goes above 25gb usage (using MSI Afterburner Monitor). Pico Neo3 Link VR - Windows 11 64bit, Gigabyte Z590 Aorus Elite Mobo, i7-10700KF CPU, Gigabyte RX 9070 XT OC 16gb (AMD GPU), 32gig Corsair 3600mhz RAM, SSD x2 + M.2 SSD 1tb x1 Saitek X45 HOTAS - Saitek Pro Rudder Pedals - Logitech Flight Yoke - Homemade 3 Button & 8-directional Joystick Box, SNES Controller (used as a Button Box - Additional USB Numpad (used as a Button Box)
January 8, 20233 yr I have 32 gb and didn't notice any improvement when I increased from 16 gb. From what I've seen and heard, MSFS doesn't use more than 16 gb so 64 gb is overkill (unless you need it for other purposes). Ryzen 5800X3D, Nvidia RTX5080 - 32 Gig DDR4 RAM, 1TB & 2 TB NVME drives - Windows 11 64 bit MSFS 2024 Premium Deluxe Edition Resolution 2560 x 1440 (32 inch curved monitor)
January 8, 20233 yr I have 32. Most usage I've seen so far when running MSFS was 19 GB. - Harry 9800x3D (Strix x870e-E) - 64GB RAM (DDR5 6000, CL 30) - RTX 5090, 34'' 1440p OLED HDR - Windows 11 Pro (1TB M.2) - MSFS 2024 (MS Store, 4TB M.2).

I run mine off 16gb with a ryzen 5 3500 and 3060ti, in 4k with a mix of high and ultra settings. Locked at 30fps everywhere I go. I reckon 32 might do it. Jase Jaseman. Lovin it up here........ January 8, 20233 yr Even 32 is overkill. 9950X3D - X870E Aorus Master- TUF 5090 OC - 64GB DDR5 - 1500W HXi - Titan 360 RX LCD - 9100 Pro x 2 - LG 45GX950A - HOTAS Warthog with Ava Base
January 8, 20233 yr If you have 32GB of RAM already, the money would be better spent elsewhere. You will not see even a 1% gain by doing this. I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio. That´s just right, (unfortunately ) i had 32GB RAM and got 64GB RAM and i can not see any difference whats over - so 32GB RAM is enough . I never saw the RAM reaches near 32GB.. cheers 😉 Edited January 8, 20233 yr by pmplayer 08.2024 new PC is online : ASUS ROG STRIX X670E-F GAMING WIFI Mainboard, AMD Ryzen™ 9 7950X3D Prozessor, G.Skill DIMM 64 GB DDR5-6000 (2x 32 GB) Dual-Kit, MSI GeForce RTX 4090 VENTUS 3X E 24G OC Grafikkarte, 2x WD Black SN850X NVMe SSD 4 TB - Drive C+D, WD Gold Enterprise Class 12 TB for storage HDD, Thermaltake Toughpower GF3 1000W PC - Power supply, Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120 EVO CPU Aircooler with 7 Heatpipes, Design Meshify 2 White TG Clear Tint Tower-Case, 3x 4K monitors 2x32 Samsung 1x27 LG 3840x2160, Windows11 Prof. 23H2 - now Windows11 Prof. 25H2 Flightsimulator Hardware: Honeycomb Throttle Bravo, Logitech Extreme 3D Pro, Logitech Flight Joke System, XBox Controller, some Thrustmaster stuff, Winwing CDU Panels.
January 8, 20233 yr 16GB is sufficient on my system with a 4K display. I run it with vsync at 30 fps, but unlocked it runs the PMDG 737 over 40 fps on ULTRA.
