We get accused of lots of things, but I just wanted to clarify a bit about this thing about 'size of the file' and the 'quality'. There are 32 liveries and on the main texture folder (not the one

They should have sticked to scenery...

The A340-500 and -600 are beautiful planes. I would be tempted by those, even if it wasn't study level.

I’d love an A340, I’m willing to lower my standards for one too.  Will be interested to hear if this one can reasonably fly A-B.

I’d be willing to buy it if it had another horizon type mod. But without it’s a skip for me

Thing is we've been spoilt with close to study-level efforts from other devs so the A340 textures in particular stand out even more now.  It's a hard pass for me and that's coming from an airbus fan.

Is it the entire A340-series or 'just' the A340-300 ?

Just A340-300

I grabbed it and I like it. I know most folk were apparently waiting on the Dukes, but pretty though they are they don't grab me. Reading all the comments on that thread with all the questions about how to fly it just confirms my thoughts that it's probably not for me (until sale time, anyway). This though is the usual ctrl-e and away sort of thing, and I'm very happy with that.

Ryzen 9 7900X, Corsair H150 AIO cooler, 64 Gb DDR5, Asus X670E Hero m/b, 3090ti, 13Tb NVMe, 8Tb SSD, 16Tb HD, 55" Philips 4k HDR monitor, EVGA 1600w ps, all in Corsair 7000D airflow case. Sims in use - 2020, 2024, XP-12 and -11, FSX/SE, P3Dv4.5 and v5.4. DCS and AFS2 installed but rarely used

When I saw that it cant do a proper ground turn i parked plans to get it.  Basics...

Did my first flight with the A340-300 (VR) SAS EKCH-KEWR.

Outside the plane looks great. The EFB is okay but far away from others, but works downside is small text and buttons.

Cockpit is more 2D looking even in VR. Dont have the feeling of 3D buttons, nor at the overhead. FCU is okay and MCDU. Easy to setup trough EFB with weight, fuel, speed etc. But still some erros, using Direct WPT it dont clear the old wpts.

It dont fly like a big plane, and not like a A340. It climp too fast even at heavy load. Approach and flare seems also wrong. I know a A340 pilot who told it could take forever to,get to FL340 😁

Hope they will fix and improve

Claus

I bought it as well because I really wanted to fo some present day A340 flying, e.g. Kam Air OAKB-VIDP. I think @chansen is spot on. I found out side the plane looks really good, but that's more or less where it ends for me. I agree the VC looks rather flat. Indications on screens tend to be incorrect in size and shape (often too small). More buttons that I expected are functional, but there are a fair amount of bugs that make behavior unpredictable. E.g. when I turned on the APU and disconnected ground power, the whole cockpit lost power besides the indication that APU GEN was providing power and was connected to the electrical network.

On taxi didn't encounter any issues, and didn't have issues with turns, unless I didn't understand what @ErichB was alluding to? Climb-out seems unusually overpowered and there are some drawing errors of the route on the ND. The autopilot was more precise than I expected with following the route, and it has the capability of inserting SIDs and STARs, so you can be semi-realistic in your flight planning. I thought the EFB was a little clunky, sort of like the iniBuilds A300 EFB at its very first iteration. Approach and landing was very imprecise. No oscilations and such as some other airplanes do but it would react very late to the LOC and would frequently deviate. Upon AP disconnect plane was hard to control and floated over the runway massively before awkwardly bumping onto the runway. Granted, haven't flown a heavy in a while so that probably didn't help either.

My feeling is that there is quite a lot of potential, but in its current form I'm probably parking this plane until it sees improvements.

Well, I bought this after having previously bought all their other Airbus models, and got exactly what I was expecting and exactly what I wanted. No disappointment involved. And presumably I'm not the only person doing so, as I can't believe LVFR are dedicating resources just to keep little 'ole me happy.
