$85 I’m gonna pass that a lot of money.

I'll wait a while to download too. Tried it and it took hours to get to 1GB (of 2GB) then the installer had an error and shut down.

Well, I gave up trying to install today. Very slow download and then, an 'installation failed' message appears.

I hope the server situation is better tomorrow.

Just wanted to post my experience with my first flight. I preordered last week and was able to pre download so fortunately I was able to avoid the installation and purchase issues. This is a really awesome plane, while not quite "full study level" as there are no failures (apparently coming in a later update), but 95% of the systems work and if you are someone who disables failures anyway, this  is a complete plane. I wouldn't say Fenix or PMDG level but extremely close, more on the level of the Inbuilds A300-600 (maybe a little better). Full AP pilot including full VNAV and LNAV as well as a well programed FMC with everything needed for vatsim. The sounds are top tier, im tempted to say it is the best sounding airliner in the game at the moment, youtube doesn't do it justice, it is truly great. While I have never flown a MD11 in real life I imagine this is very similar as the flight characteristics match what I have heard from people who flew the MD11. I was a skeptic of this to be honest, I didn't like the preorder thing they did but I was still confident in TFDI as ACARs is great, and I know they have made an airliner in the past. But im happy to say that this is great. Really great time for the flight sim community with this and the 777, and the MAX the 777F, the A350 and A380 all on the horizon most likely this year. Feels like the long wait between the 737/Fenix until now is finally over.

I cannot believe they do not resume a download. Good God this is AOL 1991... Why have the whole cloud waiting room? Got to the last 10MG and crashed had to start all over. Man what a mistake.

What a beautiful plane. On my second flight today. I have to admit, I like this aircraft more than the 777. Everything about it feels better.

According to a post on their discord, they just updated their servers.  I downloaded my order about 10 mins. ago and it took about 10 seconds to install.  You have to re start the download though to take advantage of faster speed.

That would be money well spent for the experience.

That would $160 for airplane + $70 to me and little or no experience toward private certificate ! LOL Unless any of us have a remote possibility to fly real MD11 I wouldn't call this investment an "insult"!

That’s such a stupid thing to say. Each variant comes out to 40 bucks if you buy both variants. Can’t say that about ANY study level jet in msfs right now.

FAA: ATP-ME, 737 CA, enough time in the 757/767 to be dangerous 🤠

It's funny, I was slightly bummed about picking it up on pre-sale thinking you don't really get any benefit by buying it early.

Well it was proven worth it today - all I had to do was launch the updater first thing to download 90kbs worth of data and I was flying away laffin'.

Until the xbox outage that is, but that's a whole other thing.
