ORBX releasing new Trees. To be honest, not quite sure how I feel about this...FS2024 is releasing in just over 4 months from now, so may be aimed more towards folks that will stay on FS2020 for awhile after launch. That said, I have REX Accuseason, and I'm fairly happy with it. Sure, the trees are a bit....meh, but they get the job done. Depending on price, I may pass on this, unless it truly is something significantly better than what's available now.

You'd either have already bought Bijan Seasons or Rex AccuSeason. Alternatively, you weren't bothered enough to buy either of these add-ons, using a freeware tree size mod or nothing at all.

Yea, this is a hard pass for me. I have Accuseason and am basically happy with it and it will certainly work until I pick up 2024 in November.

Well, to me, it looks like a massive improvement. REX and Bijan, if I'm not mistaken, simply change the colouring of the default trees, this Orbx mod seems to replace the default trees with totally new models. Long overdue.

I have been using the flightsim.to tree mod since 2022. It has not added any stutters at all that I can see. I even took 10 minutes to change the numbers in the mod file for even shorter trees. No stutters compared to not using it that I can see.

And then took the coordinates from google of my residence and flew down my street. The trees now are not towering over my neighbors houses and blocking them from sight anymore like with default asobo (I live in a phtogrammetry city).

O! M! G! it's not just making them shorter! Unless these pictures on Orbx mislead, then this is the greatest MSFS mod ever made!

Exactly. From the Orbx forum:

• Completely replaces all default vegetation with high-quality ones
• Adds the ability to change vegetation seasons
• Adds the ability to replace the default grass with six new types of grass
• Biomes have also been reworked so that specific vegetation appears in certain biomes
• Software is available for changing the vegetation season and grass type

And some quotes from the developer:

"No impact on performance. Even reduced VRAM usage by 3%"

"Rex Accuseason - does not change the default vegetation models to high quality tree models. Also MSFS Global Trees HD adds new regional vegetation models. As an example, many eucalyptus and shrub species for Australia."

It seems they're a little late to the party though...

september 2020 was when it first appeared on fs.to. Soon it will be on my installation 4 years and counting.

I decided not to go this way and enhance the simulator with "basics". 

The core sim should, and it does and will even more, deliver good weather, trees, ground textures, buildings, water, streets, lights etc. And that's fine for me. 

Of course ORBX does offer this for those who want. But I rather would like to see more  quality Airports. And there a tons of them missing 🙂

My first reaction at MSFS was, wow..

.all of this beauty out of the box. And that's the way I would keep this.

I can't seem to see a price, if it's cheaper than a pint then I'll probably take a look but anything more then nah, we're getting 3D trees with MSFS2024 in a few months so I don't wanna throw money away for no reason.
