My grandmother told me that if I didn’t have anything nice to say about someone then don’t say anything at all.  So I won’t say anything about this company.  I’m glad you’re getting a refund.

I'm going to buy more products from //42 just to spite you all.

Is it done yet? When will it be released? Will it be freeware or payware? How much will it cost? Any updates on the progress? Will it work for Xbox? Can I be a beta tester? How's the performance in VR?

You forgot "...for me." at the end of your sentence, just because something doesn't bother you doesn't mean it shouldn't bother others.

The sour taste is mutual, and we ask that you not return as a customer.

Yep. I had an altercation with them about something too, with a similar result. They make CS seem like paragons of customer service.

Ryzen 9 7900X, Corsair H150 AIO cooler, 64 Gb DDR5, Asus X670E Hero m/b, 3090ti, 13Tb NVMe, 8Tb SSD, 16Tb HD, 55" Philips 4k HDR monitor, EVGA 1600w ps, all in Corsair 7000D airflow case. Sims in use - 2020, 2024, XP-12 and -11, FSX/SE, P3Dv4.5 and v5.4. DCS and AFS2 installed but rarely used

Regardless of your views on if this is a valid concern. Their response and behavior to a customer isn’t appropriate.

This isn’t new, they have done it with customers who were upset with them abandoning Skypark which was in Early Access.

4 pages about this whole lot of nothing.

Since I don't open the Flow wheel every second, the few times I do I'm not bothered by a logo. I find the response from the company appropriate, albeit a bit "cheeky".😉

Not only that; they say 'parallel 42', but they never disclosed the meridian!!! I say they are hiding somehing!!!

Well it looks like I WILL get a refund. IF I contact OrbX after they contact them first to umm warn them I'm heading their way...wish I could read THAT email lol. NOT gracious though. They could have easily said..."yeh I see your point, no hard feelings eh", but no, apparently "I'm not a 'good fit" for their software and.. "DON'T COME BACK!":

Hi  Mr. X,

I can see this thread has become quite lengthy and, unfortunately, a bit unproductive for our support team. We understand everyone has their preferences, but we strive to develop our products based on a broader vision that might not always align with individual tastes. Your excuse is in poor form for software that is 100% working as intended and without issue. I ask myself how you deal with having MICROSOFT flight simulator installed, or any of the aircraft you fly...

Look, we value every customer, but it seems we're not the right fit for each other at this time. Therefore, I'll personally forward your request to the Orbx team to initiate a refund for you. In order to initiate that from your end, please contact: orbx email withheld

The sour taste is mutual, and we ask that you not return as a customer. Thank you for understanding, and we wish you the best in your future endeavors.

Best regards,

I'm tempted to highlight portions of that but nah, it speaks for itself. The bit about NOT returning as customer....I DO own a couple more of theirs...I'd better not mention THEM!

A really bad way to treat customers. Good to know. Thanks for posting.

Today it's you, maybe tomorrow will be one of us.

Cheers, Ed

I am in dismay about this, seriously all because a logo? I hope you guys understand why the logo? you need a way to identify it is YOUR product. With how MSFS works anything can override anything, from JS code to HTML pages and eventually someone can inject a MOD that overrides your HTML Panels (in this case FLOW) having the logo ensures it is YOUR product running, is a branding to ensure is your thing.

This is not difference from the top panel icons being make unique, for example GSX, or other tools.

I don't get the post, seriously, I put my logo on my EFB tablets as well, I want people to know is my product when people post screenshots on forums, etc. Same with PMDG on their EFBs, or Fenix on theirs..

In broad terms, you are asking a company to remove their branding.. is like asking Pepsi to sell you a Pepsi without the logo, and then get upset because their response doesn't align with your ideas..

my 2 cents,
Raul

Sorry no… the product and its functionality identifies the product.. the logo is your branding and under these circumstances does not need to be displayed in a distracting location or manner EVERYTIME the person interacts with the product. Your product’s functionality does not depend on the logo, your customers should be able to opt out of seeing branding when it has nothing to do with the functionality. As it regards to the efb which I personally don’t really have issue with you should be well aware that as soon as the efbs come out wallpapers are released to replace them. Even Fenix themselves posted the option to replace their efb original wallpapers with whatever the customer wants as a feature.

Call me old school but the effectiveness and utility of your product should be able to do 90% of the advertising work for itself. Your logo only should be getting involved after interest is generated. No need to see it forced on screen indiscreetly when the end user engages a function.

Distracting spot? It’s at the very top right corner of the screen. It’s completely out of the way of anything important.

I don’t even notice it most of the time because I have no reason to look there when the wheel is open.

Hesitant to speak up again here, but for me the issue is the attitude of the vendor's support guy. I had a secondhand bookshop for ten years, and I absolutely recognise that the phrase "the customer is always right" is utter nonsense. A lot of them, increasing so as time passes, are complete arrogant P I T As. But generally speaking, you should treat them as if they are right, or at the minimum, not get into arguments with them.

(And as a side issue, having your logo visible in people's screenshots does not constitute an endorsement of your product)
