July 10, 20241 yr For me i think my concern is how flexible the new product is when it comes to flight planning. Ive found navigraph's map overlays of all available sids and stars very valuable when Simbrief either gives me a plan that doesn't quite make sense or MS ATC changes things up mid flight or pre departure and a new departure or approach plate is required to accommodate the changes . We know that WT is working on an app but do we know the charts and navdata updates will be free? July 10, 20241 yr Microsoft/WT never said that charts would be free at the Expo. They said they will make an in-sim flight planer that will work with LIDO charts. Maybe they will sell charts for a dollar a piece? Another thing I heard is that LIDO charts are only made to order. So only charts requested by Lufthansa/LIDO customers have been created. I am sure most off the most common airports are covered, but the choice is narrow compared to Jeppeson. // 5800X3D // RTX 3090 // 64GB RAM // HP REVERB G2 //
July 10, 20241 yr Pardon my complete ignorance (and maybe asking a stupid question), but what are the differences between LIDO charts and ... well ... whatever Navigraph is using? Best regards,--Anders Bermann-- ____________________Scandinavian VAPilot-ID: SAS2471

July 10, 20241 yr I like Navigraph except for the price. Pete Richards I've owned every version of flight simulator since Flight Simulator 3.0 in 1988. I didn't know the difference either so I did some Googling. I found this article that talks about different chart types and there's a pretty good explanation of Jeppesen and LIDO charts about halfway down the page (with a sample KDEN chart in each format for comparison). https://my737ng.com/articles/choosing-your-charts/

Navigraph USED to use LIDO charts, however switched away from LIDO, and moved to JEPP charts for their subscription service. The text in the article above refers to Navigraph using LIDO, which is no longer correct. Quote Generally, I choose to use the Lido charts by Navigraph. The cost is right, the colorful charts are beautiful and easy to use, and I can use them from my phone, iPad, or PC. From the PC desktop application, I can even print them out if I need to.
July 11, 20241 yr Glad to see an alternative to Navigraph coming up (other then Aerosoft's now defunct half-baked effort) I'm actually happy with every aspect of Navigraph's service and don't mind their pricing (as an Navigraph Unlimited subscriber). However, the random but all-to-frequent need to re-authenticate (including mid-flight) is extremely frustrating for me. I get that it might be needed once a month or so, but I am getting this randomly a few times a weekend. I posted in their forums and followed up a few times, but I never got a fix or at least a decent answer. Others are clearly having the same issue. If the other guys manage to do better then they have my business. Edited July 11, 20241 yr by alepro21 Formally screen name was Alex_YSSY until the forum software ate my account ^_^

I use Navigraph most days, have the unlimited subscription, but apart from hardware changes (new PC), or a new aircraft Navigraph integration upgrade, I never have to re-authenticate. Must be very frustrating, surprised Navigraph have figured out the reason.

Navigraph is of course entitled to ask me to prove that I’m a paying customer, but in my case their servers seem to have the recall of a goldfish.
