I've been putting down PMDG planes at full realism settings down on tiny strips for a decade. FSX/MSFS. My schtick is that I've had an emergency like a fire or total engine failure and HAD to land at nearest strip. I don't do grass but if it's hard I'll land on it. Or try to. Not for bragging rights I just like the challenge of overcoming the physics. MD-11/736 are my goto dead stickers. You don't say it can't be done. You ask HOW it can be done. If you HAD to. Dump fuel for a start. Check manifest. Winds, dry/wet runway/slope/altitude. IN MSFS I will say it does seem much easier to do crazy things. It's not fun to me, it ruins the challenge/realism. I did a drop take off from a Nepalese 2000 footer in a 736 which WORKED, when I should have left a long oil stain. I then went on to do a vertical stall in same mountains followed by killing both engines and restarting with APU/feather all while a couple thousand feet deep in a valley. No problem. This is WITH airframe stress on which will blow your Piper up if you open the side window to demist the screen! Russell Gough SE London

You seriously haven't seen people asking for a structured way to fly, with jobs and other stuff to do? There are even whole platforms built around it such as FSEconomy and NeoFly, for example. Props and respect to Sergio from me. This is how you distinguish people who take their job seriously (even if they are always smiling 🙂) from tourists who will barely glance at a binding legal document before signing it in a hurry and moving on 👍 Edited September 16, 20241 yr by Abriael Editor-in-Chief at SimulationDaily.com

More specifically the date the NDA lifts. It's good to know that we have something to look forward to other than the Dev Stream on the 25th. Of course, this is my perspective as a consumer. 5800X3D. 32 GB RAM. 1TB SATA SSD. 3TB HDD. RX 9070XT.
September 18, 20241 yr the MS Flight Sim community is very 'mature' (i mean that in more ways than one...) and it's been done a very specific way for so long that i think people have a hard time imagining ways the software could grow outside of more realism, better graphics. the simple fact is that it's a game as well as a sim, and as games go, there's very very little meat to MSFS2020's bones. my hope is that the 'missions' in 2024 won't just be a bunch of scripted, hand-crafted scenarios but part of a robust system that can take advantage of the entire global scenery, live weather, multiplayer, and so on, and also provide some sense of progression and reward leading to more challenging scenarios. aircraft should never be completely locked out from use in the sim for free flights, but doing little sightseeing gigs in two seater helicopters or cropdusting operations and slowly moving up towards flying commercial aircraft (if that's your thing) would be so cool and such a breath of fresh air. it would need to be done *well* though and not feel like just a tacked on thing.

As a consumer, knowing when information comes out changes literally nothing. It'll still come out at the same time regardless. Having any information a few days early is irrelevant to the customer in this industry. Any gain is illusory, and you feel the illusion of having received valuable information simply because it tickles your perception of instant gratification. The only ones who gain anything from video game leaks are the leakers, and they don't do it out of the goodness of their hearts. They do it to gain an unfair advantage in terms of engagement and exposure over those who respected the rules. Edited September 18, 20241 yr by Abriael Editor-in-Chief at SimulationDaily.com
