That's impressive. I'm used to games looking reallistic, but that one is awesome in so many ways.

That is true, impressive also because they obviously did not manage to solve the issue with reflections on the boarder of the display 😉

Greetings, Chris

AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D, 2x32GB DDR5 6000MT/s RAM, MSI RTX 4090 Ventus 3X, Windows 11 Home, MSFS2024

Poor old X Plane. And now they are going against 95 aircraft, jaw dropping scenery, full career mode, route planning and charts and ray traced cockpits.

MSFS2024 has everything except BET Blade Elements Theory.

AMD 7800X3D, Windows 11, Gigabyte X670 AORUS Elite AX Motherboard, 64GB DDR5 G.SKILL Trident Z5 NEO RGB (AMD Expo), RTX 4090,  Samsung 980 PRO M.2 NVMe SSD 2 TB PCIe 4.0, Samsung 980 PRO M.2 NVMe SSD 1 TB PCIe 4.0, 4K resolution 50" TV @60Hz, VR: Pimax Crystal Light + HP Reverb G2 @ 90 Hz, Honeycomb Bravo Throttle Quadrant, be quiet 1000W PSU, Noctua NH-U12S chromax.black air cooler.

60-130 fps. no CPU overclocking.

very nice.

with over 30.000 page views in just 2 weeks imagine what happens after next week's live Q&A stream.

Imagine no hell below us, above us only sky.

Why are you starting MSFS vs X-Plane war?

I'm no X-Plane guy, but can't understand that my toy is better then yours.
Beside this, we have enough examples that this will escalate in a short time.

You're correct. It has Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) which is a different way of calculating aerodynamics. Some say it's a better one but I am no expert in the matter so I can't say if it is or it isn't. It's irrelevant, really if the results are good enough.

I understand and think it's a good thing that Asobo/Microsoft want to attract a new audience, but I hope that for a "veteran" flight simulator user like me there's no need to go through all those “career mode” menus and I can go straight to my usual flight from A to B without any "complications".

13600KF - AIO - 32GB DDR4 - RTX4070 - UW1440p GSync - USB DAC - 2TB NVMe - Windows 11 Pro - Gladiator NXT EVO - 1 Gbps Fiber  - MSFS 2024

I bet it has BET à lá  Française, something like "la Bête".....   😜

MFS works for me as a simmer pretty much like WarThunder does regarding combat flight simulation... it has such great playability and features and functionality that I have to close my eyes to it's limitations, and we don't even know if 2024 will not get better fdm-wise...

Just as I became almost addict playing WT, who knows the same will not happen with MSFS 2024?

At least the previews look astounding!

I can't imagine why Microsoft would remove a way of using the sim and replace it with another way instead of just building on top of what they currently have. It wouldn't make any sense.

Matt Nishan/Working Title is an expert. he doesn't say it is better. I tend to believe unbiased experts who don't need to defend their own creations.

Of course you can! Why would you think this wouldn't be possible anymore?

that's why Joerg is in charge, not some avsim reader. He has shown time and again that he knows his customers expectations.

It depends on who you ask. I've seen good arguments defending both approaches on several resources around the web, from folks that work with aerodynamics for aeronautical companies, etc.
