Beside this, we have enough examples that this will escalate in a short time. I want to say one thing though. It's fair to compare MSFS 2020, and MSFS 2024, to other flight simulators on the market, especially how much more advanced MSFS is, compared to the other flight simulators on the market. And I don't just mean civilian flight simulator. We can even compare the technology in MSFS 2020 and MSFS 2024 to non-civilian flight simulators such as DCS World. Right now in terms of technology, MSFS 2020 is the sole flight simulator that brings flight simulation to what is possible with present technology in this decade. By present technology, I am referring to the digital twin earth in MSFS 2020, where Blackshark AI is used in conjunction with satellite and photogrammetry, to generate the digital twin earth. There is no other flight simulator out there, even DCS World, that comes close to MSFS's rendering of the world. In other words, only MSFS 2020 is using the full capabilities of modern technology (until MSFS 2024 came along), to render the digital twin earth. Another example is frame generation. MSFS was one of the first games to utilize frame generation and NVidia's CEO used MSFS as an example of the NVidia 4000 series frame generation capabilities, in his initial NVidia 4000 series live presentation. It was extremely impressive that MSFS was one of the first games to take advantage of frame generation. Now MSFS 2024 is coming. And they are showing how AI is being used to make the terrain even more realistic (ie. the "pebbles" and rocks, and other advancements with the terrain in MSFS 2024). From what I see, MSFS 2024 is even more advanced than MSFS 2020, and MSFS 2024 is making MSFS 2020 look a little "old." I think it's fair game to compare MSFS 2020, and now MSFS 2024, to all the other flight simulators out there, including the non-civilian flight simulators such as DCS World. It shows how much advanced MSFS truly is, and what is possible in flight simulation if the most advanced technology is used to make flight simulation better. In the end, we are all hoping that flight simulation is capable and able to take advantage of the technology we have today. Because after the last patch for FSX was released, there was about 10 years where flight simulation was largely stagnant, and was not taking advantage of the most advanced technology available. But now we can see MSFS 2020, and MSFS 2024, is taking advantage of the latest technology, to make flight simulation better. That's something we should celebrate and admire, but you need to compare it to the other alternatives on the market, to truly appreciate the ground that MSFS has broken. A lot of video games still have not adopted frame generation yet (even some of the other flight simulators on the market still do not officially support frame generation), so it's extremely impressive that MSFS was one of the first games to take advantage of frame generation. I agree (partially) with you other statements, regarding Frame Generation you could not be more wrong. Frame Generation as implemented in MSFS is a nVIDIA propriertary thing, using AFMF or lossless scaling or other apps, you can get frame generation easily also in MSFS and in any other DX11 or DX12 game. X-Plane is not going to just die as it has its niche users and will always be alive just like Prepar3D has its users. Heck even MSFS is a niche in the scheme of gaming overall.

I mean, it should be better than either the Blackbox A332 for P3D/FSX or the mishmash of Wilco VC and Thomas Ruth model for FSX. I'd switch on day one, but only if: 1) All my current 2020 Marketplace purchases are enabled in 2024. 2) There's a way to move the Marketplace purchases from the Steam version to the MS Store one (that's because Steam now charges me in USD, while MS still charges in my currency. And there's a big difference...). If not, well, I'll simply wait until first sale.
