September 19, 20241 yr The Pacific Northwest actually looks like the Pacific Northwest now, with the correct trees in MSFS 2024 🤣: i5-12400, RTX 3060 Ti, 32 GB RAM

If I get more than $1 in value out of it per day then it is a good return on investment. So if I use the Aviator Collectors edition 260 times that boils down to $1/use. For me personally that is a great ROI. That is also discounting a 1:500 model of the AN225 is probably $70 alone. I just don't like the pre-order is Aerosoft only... September 19, 20241 yr I will have to check all this out in detail later. Unfortunately that won’t be until tonight when I am home from work. I really wanna see what they have done with weather and atmospheric conditions. Looked like one video I previewed on my phone had hazing in the distance and I noticed more prominent looking rain squalls. Other than flight physics I think weather and atmospheric conditions to be the most import part of a sim in the sky. 😀
September 19, 20241 yr I was worried that it would be DX12 only, and that seems to have been confirmed. MSFS 2020 runs amazingly well in DX11 mode on my PC, but I suspect that MSFS 2024 will struggle Christopher Low AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D CPU / 64GB DDR5-6000 RAM / 12GB Nvidia RTX 4070 Super GPU / Gigabyte X870E Aorus Elite Wifi 7 / 1+2TB Samsung Evo Plus M2 Nvme UK2000 Beta Tester

Also, if you are that worried, you can always get Gamepass for a month to try out MSFS 2024. Then quit Gamepass after one month. That's the cheapest way to test MSFS 2024. Depending on where you live, Gamepass can be very cheap for your first month, if you have never used Gamepass before (just remember to unsubscribe so they don't charge you for the second month). i5-12400, RTX 3060 Ti, 32 GB RAM
September 19, 20241 yr MSFS 2020 is already the most advanced flight simulator overall, especially for graphics. I have to say, MSFS 2024 makes the graphics in MSFS 2020 look dated. The ground is so detailed in MSFS 2024. At least for the Grand Canyon, the Grand Canyon in MSFS 2024 looks 3x better than MSFS 2020. i5-12400, RTX 3060 Ti, 32 GB RAM

I just don't like the pre-order is Aerosoft only... I do something similar with just about every game I play. I take the total number of hours I played and divide that by the cost of the game. A lot I’ve been playing a cent an hour. That’s value! We won’t talk about the ones I haven’t played enough to warrant that deal however. 😜

September 19, 20241 yr So.. overall i think this is definitely worth the upgrade but a few more items need to be fleshed out. Things major positives for me are 24 hour historical weather - This is all i ever needed (selfishly speaking) Looks like we have a few more cloud types and effects modeled. Ash clouds appear fixed Sim flight dynamics have been revamped. Flight planner included (Not sure if im ready to ditch simbrief/navigraph as yet though) Walk around mode looks pretty decent. On the flip side it looks like some third party devs have some work to do to avoid their models looking like ugly ducklings Graphical details have been massively improved - Awesome for VFR flyers Things i would like more information on - ATC with proper vectoring and spacing , Network performance and support, AI aircraft at Airports... are we still in the FSTL/AIG era ?, AI support at airports (Are people/cars still walking into AC ?) I assume that over time more information will get released but definitely pre purchasing my copy today AMD Ryzen 9800X3D/ Asus ROG Strix B650E F Gaming WiFi / Asrock Taichi 9070XT / 32GB G.Skill Trident Z5 Neo DDR5 6000 / 2x ADATA XPG 8200 Pro NVME / Arctic Liquid Freezer II 280 / Seasonic Vertex 1000w PSU / Lian Li LanCool II Mesh Performance / Asus VG34VQL3A / Topping E70 Velvet DAC & L70 Amp /Sennheiser HD660s2 Thrustmaster Boeing Yoke + TCA Sidestick + TFRP Rudders
